This show is terrific. For fans of Best in Show or A Mighty Wind this is an absolute must see.
In this classic fish-out-of-water scenario the wealthy but down on their luck Rose family struggle to come to terms with their new lives in the small town of Schitt's Creek. Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara deliver rock solid performances that any fans of their previous work will be quite pleased with. Chris Elliott's needy/psychotic hillbilly mayor steals every scene that he's in.
Daniel Levy and Annie Murphy do a great job as the Rose children, despite their characters feeling a little more one dimensional than their parents in the first few episodes.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the entire Rose family comes to grips with their new lives in Schitt's Creek.
The humor in Schitt's Creek is so subtle and dry and sarcastic and it's so different from all these comedies with their laugh tracks and their horribly obvious jokes that can't possibly be funny when there's no need to listen to the words because the tone tells you when to laugh. Such a wonderful change of pace.
