It's not that this is a bad show, but it just isn't very compelling. It is well made, but I couldn't find myself caring about the characters or the plot. As time is limited, I'm not going to spend it on a show that I found boring
What started off as a familiar but exciting premise is already growing stale. Seeing another journey through the ranks of an amateur to high level dealer is pretty common these days as it seems networks are trying to get the next "Weeds" or "Breaking Bad".
I was pulling for this one but after 3 episodes, the plot is becoming a slog. While the writers make an attempt to weave various characters' stories into a complex web, it ends up becoming a mess without context or connection. I see where some of the strands are leading however its hard to keep patience to wait for it to play out. The side plot with the CIA operative and Cartel really doesn't help the pacing without a bit more to hold it to the bones of the story and while Mencheta does a good job portraying the mexican wrestler over his head, his plot is the weakest of them all.
I could see coming back to this one if it picks up, however it's hard to make a case when we have more compelling stories with similar plots (Queen of the South etc.)
