Interview: 'The Killing' star Mireille Enos

Of all the many strong female performances on HBO's "Big Love,"   Mireille Enos 's often stood out because it came in two parts. As the actress playing both identical Marquart twins, Enos got to alternately play sweet, open-hearted Kathy and cool, reserved Jodeen.   It was a performance that caught the eye of the "Big Love" casting directors, who were responsible for finding a strong actress to work at the center of   "The Killing," AMC's new drama (debuting Sunday night at 9) tracking a single murder investigation over an entire season. Enos plays Sarah Linden, a Seattle cop caught up in the biggest case of her career on what's supposed to be her final days on the job.   It's a very quiet performance - Linden thinks a lot and tends to speak only when necessary - but a compelling one. I spoke with Enos about the part at the television critics press tour back in January.    Read More.... // //

'The Killing's' Michelle Forbes does a 180 from 'True Blood'

In AMC's new series "The Killing," Michelle Forbes plays a woman whose teenage daughter has been murdered, and it delves deeply into her and her family's grief. So in other words, she's about as far removed from Maryann Forester on "True Blood" as it's possible to get. "That was indeed the point," Forbes tells Zap2it with a laugh. "The Killing," which premieres April 3, follows the aftermath of the killing of a 17-year-old girl named Rosie Larsen (Katie Findlay) in Seattle. It follows the homicide detectives (Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman) who catch the case, a city councilman (Billy Campbell) who has a connection to the case, and Rosie's family, including parents Mitch (Forbes) and Stan Larsen (Brent Sexton). The family "is part of this very sad kitchen-sink drama," Forbes says in the video above, which we shot with her Monday (March 21) following her appearance on the KTLA morning show. "It takes each [episode] as a... //

AMC has released the most comprehensive teaser yet for its new series "The Killing." 'The Killing': Get to know Billy Campbell's 'troubled' politician

One thing Billy Campbell will not tell you in the video above: How, exactly, his character in AMC's new series "The Killing" is connected to the titular event. For that, you'll have to watch the show when it premieres on April 3. Right now, though, you can get a little insight from Campbell into his character, Seattle city councilman Darren Richmond in the clip. It's available only on Zap2it."Richmond is a troubled person, I think, to some extent," Campbell says. "He's a somewhat tragic person." The character is running for mayor of Seattle when the killing happens, and he'll become entwined in the case as the show goes on (and, we're guessing, as the murder becomes a political issue). He'll also see his beliefs challenged over the course of the season."The whole arc of the character is an idealist finding out that you can't get in the ring without, to some extent, liking the taste of... //
