Martha Wash is a R&B, pop & soul singer/songwriter from San Francisco, California. She began her singing career as a back-up singer in the group known as "Sylvester". She next was a member of the duo called "Two Tons of Fun" that would be renamed "The Weather Girls". They had one huge hit in the Disco song "It's Raining Men" in 1972 that peaked at #2 in the UK and went to #1 in Australia. After "The Weather Girls" broke up she went back to being a back-up singer for several different groups over the years to include the Italian house music group known as "Black Box". In 1992 she was signed as a solo artist by RCA Records.
