In this joyous and celebratory drama, Zoey Clarke is a whip-smart computer coder forging her way in San Francisco. After an unusual event she starts to hear the innermost wants and desires of the people around her through songs. At first, she questions her own sanity but soon realizes this unwanted curse may just be an incredibly wonderful gift.
Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, not to be confused with "Nick and Norah's infinite playlist" is an eccentric relationship-based comedy with an interesting premise. Zoey hears and sees dance numbers/musical performances of those around her expressing their true emotions or "heart songs". This comes with some hilarious moments for example it breaking the traditional mold of the "best-friend in love with the main character" almost instantly where she finds this out early in the shows story line as he starts singing her love songs and she tries to redirect his attention. There is also a heartwarming tale about her father with a degenerative illness causing him to be locked in his own body, but able to communicate with her through song. The show takes the typical and makes it extraordinary, I can't wait to see where it leads.
