Really funny, really clever spoof of both the East and West of the 80s before the Iron Curtain fell. Loved every minute!
Nice idea, and Chris Noth and Danny Pino are great, but otherwise this series is clunky and boring. After about three episodes you no longer care what happened to "Kick" and seriously, how many times can she say variations of 'when I was young something terrible happened to me' and 'I know what you're feeling'? Disappointing.
Really good, interesting premise with a nice, slow burn. You really have to pay attention because so much is going on. I really enjoyed it, however, I felt like there wasn't enough of a pay off at the end, it felt rushed and a bit too convenient somehow, and I was a bit disappointed that we never really learned anything about the Elders. Hoping for a second series to expand this universe a bit!
I really wanted this show to be great, I wanted to love it, but in all honesty, it's just meh. Too rushed, no depth to the characters, insta-love between Manny and whatserface... see, I can't even remember the main squeeze's name and I watched all ten episodes!
There was just not enough time given to the characters, their development and back story, and I found it hard to care about them. The series overall was just too short, the story just starts getting somewhere and then it's over, wtf? Oh, and the big bad was far, far too easy to beat.
If it gets renewed, I will continue to watch, because I think it has the makings of something good, but so far, just not living up to its potential.
Oh look another series that I adored and FOX cancelled. Is it deliberate? Cos it sure feels like it sometimes! Anyhoo, great series, one of the best, great humour, great characters, adore it!
Hank Voight, how do I love thee, let me count the ways!! I love every character in this series, I love the moral ambiguity, the kickassness, the BAMF female characters. I am obsessed, it is true, I can't help it guys. Between Hank and Antonio, I don't stand a chance!
I am obsessed with this series! Still catching up, on season three and I have loved every second. Great drama, awesome cast with great chemistry, decent storylines. It's a toss up which I love most, this or Chicago PD.
I initially managed half the pilot before giving it up for a bad job (I remember the original series with great fondness), but I must admit that when I saw that it had 21 episodes and had been renewed, I gave it a second chance. And yes, it is kind of terrible at first, but it grew on me and I really quite enjoyed the dynamics and chemistry between the characters. The whole big reveal thing with Murdoc was kind of crappy though, I mean talk about fan service, only those of us old enough to have watched the original would have a clue about the significance. He's not nearly as creepy and ominous and generally terrifying as I remember the original Murdoc being either, far too cartoonish a character. But anyway, yes I enjoyed it and yes, I will look forward to season 2.
Another utterly wonderful series cancelled too early. I really know how to pick 'em! Ioan Gruffudd and the rest of the cast were just lovely, great story, great idea, really well executed. Well worth a watch even though it was cut short.
Rage-quit after season three, not only did they kill off the best character, but they utterly ruined the series for me by having Reese declare his love for her. Absolutely pointless and so far out of character that I admit, it really did enrage me. Enjoyed it thoroughly right up to that point, but then too annoyed and disappointed to continue.
