This show does a wonderful job of making the 20's seem more attractive and glamorous than ever. The contrast between the glitz and glamour of 20's Atlantic City and the dark nature of the business that keeps it that way is brilliantly captured. Steve Buscemi portrayal of Enoch 'Nucky' Thompson shows what a powerhouse he truly is.
The show's plot can sometimes have too many strands but the writers always manage to tie them back together towards the end of each season. The last season was truly spectacular, running parallel story lines showcasing Nucky's present day troubles and his struggles as a young boy/man. These story lines manage to come together in the series finale which definitely does the show and characters justice.

Doctor Who

There's a very good reason that this show is the longest running sci-fi series of all time. The Doctor is an absorbing character, but it's the use of a human companion that makes the show so appealing. It allows you to see The Doctor's world through the eyes of someone you can relate to.
Most of the series of the show since it restarted in 2005 have been great; however it has gone downhill since Steven Moffat took over as head writer. The new Doctor, Peter Capaldi, is brilliant and has brought a new side to The Doctor that wasn't seen with previous incarnations. A classic show and well worth watching.

A fun little family sitcom, well led by Greg Davies. The cast changes between season 1 and 2 are well handled and everything runs smoothly. Also, who knew Taylor Lautner could actually act?

Charlie Brooker's Wipe

A fun look back at the year that isn't all that fun. Charlie Brooker casts his characteristically pessimistic eye over 2014 and reminds us all why the world is turning to shit. Witty and, at times, thought provoking, Brooker manages to make the past year seem much worse than anyone can remember. Although, that's likely to happen when all the year's tragedy is condensed down to an hour.
I would definitely recommend this for anyone who enjoys pessimism or pessimistic entertainment, a category into which I definitely fall.

Came into its own during seasons 3-7. It has been declining a bit since then but still far exceeds most other animated shows out there (including Family Guy). It took what Family Guy started and re-tooled and improved upon it.

They tried too hard to replicate what made Family Guy so successful and ended up coming very, very short. Only survived as long as it did due to Seth MacFarlane's name being attached to it.
