Ms. Marvel

Ms. Marvel is a fun show aimed more at a YA audience but is enjoyable for anyone who enjoys superhero shenanigans (and doesn't hate diversity). It's quite stylized, with animations bringing Kamala's imagination to life. Iman Vellani is delightful in her role and I am looking forward to more!

The chemistry between Hailee Steinfeld and Jeremy Renner is great and works for the holiday setting, taking one of the more modest Avengers and giving them a Christmas buddy-cop sort of dynamic with a young vigilante. I'm looking forward to more episodes and excited for the new characters being brought into the MCU!

I honestly did not think I would like this. All I could tell was it was a sports show. But the cast looked great and I gave it a shot. It completely blew right past my expectations and I'm so excited for season two! It dealt with some great themes and I fell in love. If I can like a show about baseball, anyone could!

This show is refreshing with an energetic pace and quirky voice to it. The representation on this show is good, and I was so glad to hear that the autistic protagonist is played by an autistic actor as well. The characters are great, their interactions believable, and this show gives a voice to underrepresented groups to boot. I binged this show because I heard my friends raving about it and I was not disappointed! 4.5 stars mostly because I really don't like bugs >.< it totally works for the show, just... yeah. Anyway, I recommend this one!

A bit predictable at times, but also better than the films in some ways. More nuanced, believable relationships, as well as expanding the Jurassic universe in delightful ways. I can't wait for a second season! (Update: loved the second season!)

I remember I liked the first season, didn't like the second season (they went for a horror vibe, not my thing), but got through it and am giving season three a chance. The first episode of season 3 was not all creepy/horror like season two was, so I'm giving it a go.
Update: I like S3 so i'm giving my rating another half star.

This show was recommended to me and I wasn't exactly expecting to like it, but it really grew on me and I found myself quite invested! I ended up loving this silly pirate show. I was also not expecting queer rep so that was nice! Much more realistic that way.
Update: 5 stars. Idk how I didn't give it 5 stars before. This show is amazing!!! Definitely one to rewatch.

I think this show found its stride and got better as it went on. Pilots are often clunky due to needing to pack in a lot of content and exposition. Then Ruby Rose left the show right when I was really connecting with her as Batwoman. I wasn't sure if i'd keep watching, to be honest, but then Season Two had Javicia Leslie taking up the role and brought on new elements and issues-- more nuance. The show feels very poignant and timely, and I'm glad I stuck around for Season Two!
Update: Season 3 is even better, really feels like it's Javicia's show now!

Decent sci fi show I'm following along with. I really like Strickland's character and opportunities to explore him more. I remember a few other times I was invested, but also a couple I was like ehh. One of my specific triggers was in the show which I didn't expect (I added to dtdd for reference whenever I might rewatch.) I remember right from the beginning I was not vibing with the helmet design for their suits and it took me some time to get more immersed or invested, but I also love shows on spaceships like this and it's engaging enough to watch while I eat, but not so engaging i'm distracted from work if I have it on, so it works for that middleground for me.

With the two-episode premiere to go off of, I can't say how things will go, but love what the actors and such have said about it and enjoyed the premiere on Disney+ a great deal. I've already watched multiple times 🖤 If you like witches (inherently queer already) and a show that doesn't sensationalize marginalized identities, I think you'll like this one! This is a show embraces the characters without sensationalizing them and their identities are acknowledged as natural and a part of them. This show has a delightful cast (with delightful voices) that kept me engaged with the characters and their journeys. 10/10 from me so far! Can't wait for more!
