During the off season, not only veterans passed the annual tests, first in the swimming pool, then in the icy winter sea but also three newcomers join the team. Among them coast boy Troy Quinlan 'Gonzo' (25) and country kid Adrial '(Kevin) Bacon' Young. Both start well in their first season. Troy happens to share with Corey the profession's nightmare, finding a drowning victim beyond help, with a hammerhead shark thrown in as if for maximal trauma.
