Review of Finding Carter

60 minutes

Written by Bones' Emily Silver, the series is about a teenage girl named Carter (Kathryn Prescott) who learns that her fun-loving single mom Lori (Milena Govich) abducted her as a toddler, and must now return to her birth family. As she attempts to adjust to her new life with her parents and twin sister, she vows to reconnect with Lori.

I recently binged my way through this. The premise is very interesting and the first season, for the most part, has more hits than misses. The second season is quite a different story though and quite frankly it's a mess, the notes they do hit are too few and far between. h. Some of the storylines are very out there, a lot of the secrets and big reveals could have been done without, they should have gone more Friday Night Lights as opposed to PLL. Yet I find myself still wanting to watch. Even though the writing is not up to par some of the characters are very likeable and the acting is actually quite good. In fact, I would go so far as to say that Kathryn Prescott is one of the most likeable actresses on television and is quite wasted on the material that she is being given. I'll keep watching for now, but if the writing does not improve then it is doubtful that it will be on for too much longer.
