The Hour

Uunjust to say that it is yet another British period drama... for what it actually is Drama at its very best! If it was a US network's show, it would've swept golden globes on all categories in consecutive years...its even better than Mad Men on accounts of character development, electrifying acting performances by legendary actors, especially Whishaw and Garai, and better written dialogues.. In fact the Hour, makes you want to take notes while watching. If I could be so bold, it is a Crime on BBC's behalf Not To Renew a third season to this masterpiece, especially considering some of the crappy shows that we see running up to their 6th seasons on BBC. Having been a bingewatcher over 30 yrs, I still cant shakeoff that trembling sensation that I ever experienced not only while watching 2nd season finale, but after and even still whenever I remember...after 4 yrs.Ia'm still smitten, for it is real

I watched first 2 episodes of this show and then first 2 eps of Borgia (dir.Tom Fontana); and I could'nt stop watching the latter(Fontana' s version ) till the end , as it is the first show that got me binging obsessively. So outta 2 stars that I've given, one is for Sir Jeremy Irons and other is for costumes. So much for an exquisite and enthralling version...go check Borgia (canal+) all season eps are in english!

I loved Phoebe Waller-Bridge's writing in 'Crashing'. Possibly seen it thrice already. No joke...it takes an amazing talent to write a seriously witty comedy .
So, I was taken in throughout first 4 eps of this show that she can also deliver such an intimately feminine, intricately sophisticated thriller as well. However, towards the end of the fourth episode, I found myself fidgety ..almost eager to file my weekly bills; I mean that distracted I became and lost my appetite to carry on.Exactly like lolli123456 put, writer totally 'lost the plot' or the gist of the show which made it so gripping so far....

I had to make a new list to categorise this one: 'Watched yet Dissappointed'.When I was watching the pilot, I was so psyched, so invested in the show; well cuz hey the Samantha Morton And Ben Chaplin
were starring....make no mistake they were amazing...its the story that I found wee too predictable for the genre

So cliché...bad writing....too much makeup on lead Archie's face...and please do yourselves a favour and don't watch right after viewing an episode of 'Discovery of the Witches' cuz then it becomes utterly Unbearable

I thought that plot was stretched out way too far just to get the point across.

This is Not yet another amnesia based plot! It will be unjust to define it as such. It is a gem of an exquisite Spanish thriller that guarantees to keep you guessing and assures that you 're entertained...thinking that it was time well-spent. Not a mainstream but a sophisticated plot, exceptional acting, which gets away with portraying 'daring' as 'sublime'.

This series so far had nothing new or interesting to say.It is full of cliches. Other than Reese Witherspoon's Madeleine all other characters are mushy and indistinct. I often found myself irritated and frustrated. Newcomer Jane's trauma is ridiculous as what she experienced appears to be just rough sex . Tastes differ not every woman has hi levels of libido or can keep up or enjoy that style...but is hardly rape when you hangout all night invite over, like the lad enough to snog then call it a rape when you dont like technical performance. If it was that rough she wouldnt be able to run on the beach after. Scenes werent convincing...not clear or graphic enough maybe. As Jane is ridiculously not credible so as Kidman in her sex scenes. Too robotic...not credible. Kidman is an amazing actress with stoic beauty yet she has her limitations when it comes to portraying sex scenes..She doesnt seem to enjoy the makeup sex appears cold and asexual. This show needed representation of sexually liberated career women , moms like us. Wish at this day and age women should not be limited to few stereotypes

2 stars given in courtesy of good acting . That being said , if it was named snatch for twats, it might have a point. Catastrophic accent failures...poorly written dialogues( at least Guy Ritchie's film was entertaining based on somewhat witty scripted content). Way too predictable. storyline...fully streamlined...every step is explained over and over to the point you wonder if the writers' aim is to insult viewers intelligence. Extensive use of slow- motion or still takes...to the point that instigram can be credited for the direction. Half of each episode is like soundtrack vc...rather content is sparsely added to a 45 mins long soundtrack video clips

Concoction of exceptional script, riveting acting performances and breathtaking scenery! I devoured first season and can't wait to catch up the next one. You will find it difficult to let the characters go at the end of season as if plot was so gripping that you do not wish to snap out of it just yet.
