This show deserves the BAFTA award for best drama. Sally Wainright's gritty , yet human feel has you engaged almost from the first moment. Its a typicallly British style, which builds on the suspense and ties together several story lines through the main character, Catherine Cawood, a police sargent dealing with her own family tragedy, as she negotiates life and crime within the police force of a small country town in West Yorshire. Watch it and you certainly won't be disappointed !!
First episode sets the scene for a very interesting storyline. I was gripped from the moment Katherine Parkinson raised her head to look at the moon in a room full of 'Synth's'. I loved it!
Not good! Acting, scripting and even the plot just make this show into an average cop show.
First episode was drawn out some what. I nearly stopped watching.....but I had nothing else to do!
I binged watch the rest, as the story went on, and the connections got stronger I couldn't stop watching,
I loved it in the end! wish I had a few more episodes to look forward to now.
Season 1, episode 1
I wasn't sure I'd like this....but the first episode is strangely compelling. The opening scene drew me in immediately, and the storyline kept me there. I'm not saying that it won't loose it's appeal as it unfolds, but I am going back for more next week.
Oh dear....Syfy really messed this one up. All I can say is it's not worth the time I'm giving it just to write this review. Maybe it's for 3 yr olds???
An excellent drama. I would have loved to see a second series.
An interesting concept. At the beginning of the season I didn't think it well executed. However 18 episodes in I must confess I'm intrigued as to where the writers are going with the good doctors immortality. The end of 18 gives us a whole new set of questions. Is time ticking again for our immortal doctor? Is he willing to find out? Will Adam test his theory on Henry? Maybe another season is in order after all.
A dark sinister storyline which holds you captivated. Allan Cubitt's writing is superb as is Jamie Dornan's portrayal of a serial killer. Gillian Anderson's acting isn't bad either!.
A MUST WATCH for all out there who love psychological crime dramas.
Brilliant!!. A show that is gripping right from the start. Even if historical drama is not your thing...it's a must watch. Like all Jimmy McGovern creations, it feels authentic and is dramatic. You will be drawn in to the lives of the characters and go on the emotional roller coaster created by actors such as Russel Tovey and Jullian Rhind-Tutt.
