Interesting show. Tyler Hoechlin in the trailer is what drew me in, but the rest of the cast provides decent performances. The revolving cast makes the performances a little spotty at times, and some episodes seem vary widely in terms of direction and script from others but still a decent watch.
The drama and characterization is tight, the mystery intriguing enough to keep one's attention and the subplots are almost always interesting/ weird/ some combination of the two.
Quirky, zany, and far exceeding the expectations set by the Douglas Adams' series of the same name. I'm so happy to have seen Elijah Wood back on screen, but Samuel Barnett and Fiona Bourif both steal the show. Special mention goes out to Hannah Moscowitz as well. Despite its tragically short run, both seasons were extremely well written, bringing a whole new meaning to the phrase "jigsaw mystery."
I love Kristen Ritter and her performance in this show, although my personal fave is James Van Der Beek spoofing himself. Don't Trust the B is suprisingly insightful at times, and annoyingly uncomfortable at others. It can make for a decent light watch, as long as you have no high expectations.
It's true that Sherlock Holmes is overdone. We've had just about every iteration we can possibly think of - except perhaps a space version. That being said, this version breathes life into the old trope and makes it its own. To the viewer, Elementary is innovative enough to be its own show.
What I love most about Elementary is that it takes the time to delve into deeply feminist themes, to explain them (albeit sometimes involving some grade A Sherlock-splaining.) Lucy Liu is fantastic as Watson - my personal favourite Watson, for that matter, especially since she is no sidekick, but a detective on par with, and one that can replace Holmes.
A well done period drama. Well fleshed out characters, elegant costumes, and great perspectives. Unfortunately, the lack of action can make the storylines seem slow and boring at times
Hands down my favourite Arrowverse show.
Season 1 was doubtless a little wobbly, and a little annoying, but displayed at its heart some fantastic comic timing, brilliant performances, and a daredevil attitude towards network executives. I feel that the people over at Legends act like they're living on borrowed time, and therefore give themselves the license to get as legitimately ridiculous as they feel like. And. It. Works. Everytime. I don't even know how (Beebo) they make it work, but they do.
Caity Lotz and Dominic Purcell are the best performances on this show, in my opinion, and the Prison Break dream team of Purcell and Wentworth Miller (whenever they can get the latter for the show) is the icing on the cake.
I am still upset about this cancellation.
This was a funny - funny! - and well thought out show that gave us a glimpse into the world of daytime talk shows, and of how people can be shallow and serious and well meaning and victimized and bullies all at once. Also, hella cute
I owe this show so much. It's such a genuine, well researched and sensitive portrayal of mental illness, for starters. It's also painfully relatable, zeroing in on all the worst impulses all of us have, and putting it out there for us to cringe at. CXG is a musical that has brought us a number of wonderful songs (The Sexy Getting Ready Song is my personal fave), and IT. IS. flatout HILARIOUS.
Loved this show, loved the chemistry between the lead roles, loved Kate Beckett. Also campaigned to have the show cancelled after they axed Stana Katic. There's no show without Beckett, trust me.
