Gilmore Girls is an hour-long American television drama/comedy that aired for 7 seasons first on the WB and then on the CW. Re-runs in the US are currently airing on ABC Family. Amy Sherman-Palladino created the show and served as its executive producer with husband Daniel Palladino until the end of the sixth season (David S. Rosenthal took over for the final season). The show follows single mother Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and her daughter Lorelai Leigh "Rory" Gilmore (Alexis Bledel) in the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut, roughly thirty minutes from Hartford. The series explores family, friendship, generational divides, and American class issues. It is set in a close-knit small town with many quirky characters.
There are some shows that are just going to be forever relevant (um, Friends?). And when I'm in that lurch where I'm up to date with all my shows, or many have gone on hiatus, these are the shows that I come back to periodically and either do a binge re-watching of, or just select an episode from any old season, and pick up where we left off… Talk about the ultimate feel good shows. I've also added Happy Endings in there just for funsies -- I mean, what an underrated show -- so ridiculously funny, and feel good. Now for the real question though, will there ever be the Ross to my Rachel? *Sigh…*
