Goliath is a legal drama about a large legal firm and the separation of one of its founders... and guess what, it's fucking Billy Bob Thornton. He portrays a drunk and angry man who made mistakes and is now fighting to survive on his own. He's an asshole but also fights for the truth and becomes a so called "David" to bring down a "Goliath". I recommend you watch this legal drama.
Hap and Leonard is a period drama set in 1988 that follows 2 men's struggle to get by in Texas. These two men are vastly different but best friends that will do anything for one another. The cast is filled with fantastic actors and the story is quite interesting. This show is a nice release by Sundance.
Louis C.K. is one of the funniest men in the comedy circuit. He is hilarious, indifferent and sarcastically blunt. This comic always deserves a round of applause and this comedy special definitely deserves a watch.
Roots is a mini-series (period drama) about a slave you came from Africa to America to live as a slave. The show depicts the brutal struggles that slaves had to endure and their fight for freedom. The show is driven by hope, pride, faith and liberation.
"I’ve been here so long I’ve forgotten my name
My master is not the only one to blame
I am now human livestock to this man
I will one day leave this place, I will take a stand"
By: Myself :)
A lovely story that is told within this show, a must watch for anybody who has a heart. A recommended mini-series.
Tru Calling is a supernatural fantasy drama about a girl who has a grim gift. This girl is studying to become a medical practitioner and ends up working in a morgue where her gift is drawn out... she can communicate with spirits of the dead and the living. She finds her "true calling" helping those who have died and are about to die. The story is boring but the cast is filled with good actors. Not a show for me and I certainly don't recommend it... but it could be good for you?
Easy is drama that literally made me fall asleep... not only on the first attempt but again on the second. This 30 min show is to slow for me and the written is a little pretentious for my liking. I don't recommend it but it doesn't mean its a bad show... just to slow for me.
The Path is a drama about a new age cult in today's society (fictional). The cast is filled with great actors and the premise of the show is good. What can this cult offer you that you cannot obtain within your life, your religion, your family? The explanation of life... the inconceivable ladder to ascension, faith, grace and most of all... it will give you hope. If you are broken, if you are weak, if you are damaged, if you are lost come climb the ladder and follow "The Path".
Freakish is a horror drama about kids survival a chemical disaster and having to deal with the freaks it left behind (might as well just say it... zombies). The story has many holes; the air outside is contaminated so staying in a school stops air for coming in... what about the air exchange, or air conditioning or how about the fact that that school can't possibly be air tight... Other than some major story issues like the one I just stated; the cast is decent, the script is bearable and the freaks are well... Freakish. Not recommended but watchable.
Frontier is a period drama that covers the conflicts between Natives, Europeans, Canadians and Americans in the 18th Century in North America. There's and ongoing battle for trade, land, power and most of all... pride. This is a new "Frontier"; a new land filled with opportunity, resources, prospects and riches. The cast is well versed and story is interesting enough. I recommend this show to Canadians and history buffs.
Jim Jefferies tells it like it is, holds nothing back and is extremely vulgar. His comedy is a hilarious combination of twisted redirects and obvious conclusions on human society. Jim is my favorite Comedian of all time and will always hold a special place in my heart :)
