well that was interesting... the only reason I gave it a 3 star was because it was such a hopeless journey... the acting was good and the actors were amazing, the writers told a story that for me was predictable.. they took a shot at God/religion, human bad behavior, the environment and all that stuff.. I really just was left with the feeling of *really?* *that's it??* ... still worth the watch if you are patience and like pointless sci-fi drama .
wow! so the acting was terrific.. the characters were nicely formed for the most part.. I love that the writers didn't go to the usual love entanglement between the 2 main players because it really allowed the story to move with credibility.. you can love and work with each other and not have a steamy affair.. so for me this lent the characters more substance.. the whole time travel ideas is in itself a whole paradox of questions that I know nothing about but have so questions that I would love to have answered.. the environment and costumes of the warriors so cool... I'm sorry this series ended but at the same time it was probably time to conclude because it was becoming a lot like a killing field... it did also leave me wondering *hmmm* what's going to happen to.... ??? ;-)
On the one hand I found this documentary interesting if only for the presentation of evidence that I was not aware of previously... I understand the frustration that was felt by law enforcement hitting a brick wall where the investigation of this crime is concerned.. Why the parents of this child blocked any efforts to properly investigate can only lead a person to come to the conclusion of either their guilt of the collusion with the person or persons responsible for the crime... questions arise as to why the authorities do not today have an independent forensic department examine all the evidence for possibly new information..
on the other hand this documentary really seemed pointless if only because of the fact that it was all theory.. why bother simulating the gathering of DNA evidence and testing it?? I do concede that the theory that trace DNA could be found on the panties from an unknown source when worn brand new out of the package... however considering how exacting Pasty Ramsay seemed to be I have a difficult time believing that she would allow her children to wear something new out of the package when it came to intimate clothing... any good mom would wash the item before wearing it for the first time, something I myself learned from a young age from my own mom.. overall I was expecting more from this documentary... It would have been cooler if they would have been able to freely examine everything and really present a fully rounded hypothesis based in fact rather than conjecture.
It's so sad to think of this little girl and her family to never know justice. The fact that Patsy Ramsay died without the benefit of knowing her daughter's rapist and murderer to have been caught is just so much sadder especially because the law officers assigned to this case were just so inept.. during this documentary I found that the *active homicide detective* who considers herself an expert in interrogations to be so unbelievable.. I really felt as if she herself was so jealous of Pasty Ramsay's life that so was looking for cracks where none existed... when she spoke about Burke Ramsay a nine year old child, I had to laugh because to me he sounded like any other child that age caught up in a nightmarish firestorm... the officer's who truly believed that this family had anything to do with this child's rape and subsequent murder really need to come up with some actual proof of those allegations which they never did... to me to prove those allegations means that you take the time to prove that it couldn't be anyone else which they never could... and then there's the DNA that is definitely not belonging to the Ramsay family... did they ever test any of the family's friends other than the Santa Claus guy?? after all this time still so many questions... and did they really have to interview that Daxis nut job who was only trying to make himself relevant in this story that he really had no part in??
I did enjoy this light hearted detective series with a bit of a punch... though it did scream fantasy island in terms of impossibly rich writer meets beautiful detective... that is what T.V is for right?? take you out of your life and into dream land.. the writing for this series was cute and fun... the actors also were believable and the situations impossible... had me squirming through the not so nice scenes and smiling during the funny ones.. worth the watch!
Wow! Really enjoyed this series right to the end... it was exciting and though usually I can guess ahead what's going to happen, but every time I tried I'd be wrong... didn't think enough outside the box LOL... It would be cool to see what happens next but the series is concluded after just 13 episodes... too bad... the acting was pretty riveting, bouncing off the really smart writing... all the actors so believable and the kids (so cute) are rising stars... yup to bad it had to end and I can't say more without spoiling it for anyone who comes upon this series other than put your feet up and hope you have a bottomless bowl of popcorn.
I did really enjoy this adaptation of Henry VIII's first annulment and the (sadly) beheading of his second wife... if only we could all be flies on the wall to see what did actually transpire at that time and thank goodness we have all moved on (most of us) from those terrible and dark times where it was OK to behead your wife just to be rid of her so you could marry again.. Cromwell's role in all of that was if by all accounts true then, masterly played by Mark Rylance who kept me riveted by his seeming compassion and his dogged determination to do what was considered correct by the King. Damian Lewis was a much handsomer King than the original and he played quite well the nervous lover, dominate King who brooked no denial of his desires... Claire Foy as Anne Boleyn was wonderfully believable and at the end I found myself hoping that somehow the ending had changed but alas it had not... Really well played by all and definitely worth a second or third viewing.
I loved this show with all it's flawed characters. It did not pull back on the reality of those years gone by. The conclusion was amazing in that you are still left wondering in a good way and hoping for the best for these people who are fighting to be relevant in a world that is MAD :-)
it started out good but then I found that the writer's were struggling with a story line that just didn't survive... even the ending was not a surprise... tying up the loose ends for me didn't really happen... so for me this one goes into obscurity land and my 3 stars are more for the actors who tried so hard to bring their characters to life...
really enjoyed this series and I like the way the writer's wrapped it up.... mostly :-)
