BEWARE : Serial binger! Yes, I confess; I am obsessed with tv shows! I'm a huge fan of crime dramas and basically anything that's good! Oh, and I love food.
Big Little Lies is a wonderful miniseries which follows the lives of various families leading up the death of a character. With a star-studded cast, this show is filled with drama, suspense and addresses a lot of issues faced by both adults and children such as bullying and abuse.
Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Shailene Woodley played significant roles in the success of the show; with complex storylines and exemplary acting! Even the children were exceptional, such as the actors who played Chloe and Ziggy.
I really wish that there were more episodes as Big Little Lies is so good! There are many more things that can be explored to push the show further, such as how everyone copes after the events of final episode, and to find out more about other minor characters such as the play director who seems really obsessive and shady.
This is an excellent and gripping British crime drama series! I binged on S1 and S2, and fell in love with the show! Season 1 was phenomenal, and heartbreaking to see how Danny's family struggled with his death. I feel like Season 2 fell a tad short as most of it focused on the trial, but it was interesting to see some issues from Hardy's past finally be resolved as well. Season 3 still featured the Latimer family, and showed how the family was coping a while after the death and trial, as well as focusing on a new case following the rape of Trish Winterman.
Hardy and Miller are a great team and work well together despite being yin and yang, with Hardy being the aggressive, ambitious detective which contrasts against Miller's more emotional and caring characteristics.
This is definitely one to watch if you like drama shows which delve deep and focus on a case each season.
I watched a few episodes but just couldn't get into it. The acting, characters and storyline didn't do much for me. I guess that it's just not my cup of tea (I don't actually drink tea)!
I stumbled across this show while checking on the cast of The Chronicles of Narina to see what they were up to these days, and since the show was only a few episodes in, I decided to give it a go.
The first episode was somewhat disappointing, particularly with the typical 'party girl' antics of a spoilt rich girl and presence of putrid family members to add to the drama. I was also slightly put off by the seemingly dismal acting but I think that one thing which saves the show is how they slowly unravel the personal battle that each character is facing.
For example, I began to sympathise with Eleanor because underneath it all, she's a nice person and wants to prove that she can be more than what she has made herself out to be but with people like her mother in the way, she goes back to her old ways to find solace when she feels defeated.
When it comes down to it, I think the comedic effect is what really hooks me! If you like a bit of modern day drama and sass, this show is definitely for you! I love a good laugh, and in all honesty, I've probably laughed more throughout the second and third episodes than I have during this season of TBBT (and The Royals isn't even classed as a comedy)! I like the snarky, backhanded comments which crack me up, even so much that this show has managed to creep into my current obsessions/current favourite shows list!
To conclude, The Royals isn't by any means among the best but it is surely entertaining and I'm excited to see how the plot will develop as the season progresses! I'm happy that E! also ordered a second season before the premiere, so rest assured that you won't be let down by a surprise cancellation anytime soon (those are so annoying)!
I was excited for this show after seeing the trailer a while back, but I was so disappointed, particularly after realising that the show is actually a musical comedy.
This show isn't my cup of tea and it doesn't do anything for me. It's more of a nuisance rather than entertaining, and I had to force myself to watch beyond the pilot episode to give the show a fair chance. The acting, the singing, and the entire outlook of the show seems like a bad joke. It's such a shame because there are quite a number of familiar faces on this bandwagon, but even those can't tempt me to get on it and waste my time watching any more atrocious episodes!
I love this show! It's not the best sitcom but it definitely delivers on the comedy and entertainment. I'm always in a fit of laughter during every episode! I would recommend this show to anyone who loves a good laugh.
After watching 'Avatar: The Last Airbender', this sequel falls a little short when compared to the it - which isn't a surprise. I like that this show also gives homage to the first show by featuring our beloved characters such as Avatar Aang and Prince (now Lord) Zuko. I'm always rooting for Korra and her devoted clan as they fight for good and justice, and the hints of comedy and the naughty Ikki and Meelo are quite entertaining! I would definitely recommend watching 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' before this second show as I feel that it will allow you to develop a greater appreciation for the Avatar series.
I haven't watched this show from the beginning but from the seasons I have watched, these are my thoughts - ANTM has its share of exaggerated female drama and unfair judging, and I'm not a fashion/photography expert, but at times I'm baffled by some of the judges' preferences, critiques and decisions. The new 'Guys & Girls' theme which began in Season 20 has been somewhat ridiculous - particularly in episodes where the guys are emasculated to wear fake nails and look like drag queens. Also, it's difficult to compare male and female models in some shoots particularly in those which are female-orientated as the females have an unfair advantage - thus, I don't have high hopes for Season 21 which also has the same theme. The most important aspect of the show (the modelling) is weak, particularly when you look at the 'best' photographs of each model, and there are only a handful of models who are consistently strong with their modelling and not 'one trick ponies' - maybe good amateur models don't consider applying to the show now since it's such a joke? With that said, I don't think ANTM will survive much longer, and to counter that, Tyra needs sort things out - ASAP!
When I first read about this show, I was excited by the name 'The Murders' and premise. I thought that it could be another crime drama that I could sink my teeth into and enjoy. However, I found that I struggled to remain interested in the first season despite the strong storylines. Sadly, it was the delivery and acting that made the show feel sub-par. I was hoping for more drama, suspense and action. The characters were poorly developed and the storylines could've been better explored and delivered. Hopefully if there is a S2, it will be much more exciting!
This is a good spin-off of Black-ish and it was smart to target a younger audience with the college setting (dare I say that I enjoy Grown-ish a tad more than Black-ish because of the youthful approach).
However, there are some things which are annoying such as the heavy focus on Zoey's relationships and her immature response to some situations such as taking drugs and her willingness to give up her education/dreams for her boyfriend/relationship. I feel like the Black-ish Zoey was more confident, wiser and smarter, but I guess they had to dumb down the character to fit the new college narrative to make the show interesting.
This is definitely one to watch if you're a younger fan of Black-ish or just like teen/college-based shows.
