I started this show a while ago, and returned to finish it off. I'm so happy that I did! I'd forgotten how great the show really is! It is quite beautiful as it documents the lives of the wives of astronauts and many significant events that occurred during the US Space Race. I've learnt so much about American history in the mid to late 1900s!

I am particularly impressed by the main female characters such as Betty, Rene and Trudy, and how everyone displayed grace, ambition and supported each other and their husbands despite some differences in opinions at times. There are so many highs and lows, and it shows how they made it through it all. I was particularly taken by Louise and how she supported Alan through his illness, Gus' death and how Betty coped, among others. This show has so much heart and has some special moments that make you realise how great these stories are.

The Astronaut Wives Club is truly a wonderful show that I highly recommend!

Powerless

Powerless is a quirky, fun show that doesn't take itself too seriously. It has some charming qualities with Vanessa Hudgens as Emily, who is an enthusiastic character that leads the show. The storylines are pretty outrageous, with weird villains and heroes, as well as strange inventions by the company to protect humans. Despite this, I think that this show is charming, even if it has a more goofy comedic approach.

I am not a Doctor Who fan (I've never watched it or any of the spin-offs), so I did't embark on my binge with high expectations. The trailer seemed intriguing so I thought that I'd have a gander and see what the Doctor Who universe has to offer.

I think that some parts of this show have been done really well, such as the comic relief and dry humour that British actors can pull off really well with their accents. I am particularly impressed by Quill and her 'I don't give a damn' attitude, although, deep down, she does care for the gang. There were some disappointing characters in the mix as well such as the Headmistress and more significantly, Charlie's boyfriend (I can't even remember his name). I feel like he didn't bring much to the screen in terms of dialogue and chemistry with Charlie.

Speaking of chemistry; it felt like relationships were rushed and just shoved together; in the first episode it seemed like Lucy might be into Charlie, then all of a sudden he randomly chose a guy to go to prom with him. Then after Ram's girlfriend was killed, he quickly started up with Lucy after a kiss. It just baffled me.

Maybe it's because I haven't been exposed to storytelling and visuals from the Doctor Who world, but it feels like there were some weak scenes, CGI and props which cheapened the look of the show. I didn't really care for some of the storylines with the Shadow Kin arc, particularly the back and forth threats to the gang and their families. I hope that future episodes will be a lot better and offer room for character development, as well as a focus on Quill's past as there is still so much mystery (how did she suddenly get pregnant?).

American Gothic

I have to admit that I really enjoyed American Gothic. Yes, the serial killer story line was weak and would've struggled to keep the show going for a second season, but I was hooked.

There were many elements that were brought to the surface over time that were unexpected like Jack's psychopathy and his obsession with pain and death, and who his mother really was. Jack was so creepy and even his family were scared of him (I guess he takes after Sophie)! That was something to definitely expand on further and could've been the highlight of a second season! I'd prefer a show about a child psychopath/family of psychopaths rather than one about a the secrets of a dead serial killer!

I quite liked this show and was sad to see it end. There were some interesting storylines and everything was just so creepy! Would've loved to see more!

Hellcats

I really enjoyed Hellcats during its run. The show had some great actors (Aly Michalka was a fantastic lead as Marti), and it had a lot of drama to keep fans entertained. The cheer stunts were on point!

It's a shame that it was cancelled but I think that it would have struggled to deliver with such a large episode order for another season.

I had such high hopes for this show as I am a fan of The Blacklist. However, I feel like Redemption fails to deliver and falls short with missed opportunities to make storylines more intriguing. It's a tad odd how much Scottie is obsessed with Tom, then he coincidentally turns out to be her son. Also, this Whitehall dilemma is, dare I say it, a snooze fest. The content just doesn't fit the 'Redemption' tag.

Despite a star-studded cast, I feel like most of the main characters apart from Tom and Solomon aren't that impressive or interesting. Nonetheless, I'll keep watching (I really just want to ogle at Tom Keen :D), and hopefully the episodes will improve after the hiatus.

Scandal

This is a powerhouse of a political thriller thanks to Shonda Rhimes and her brilliant mind! The pace of the dialogue on the show is particularly impressive and unique as each main character commands respect from their speech (how can they talk so fast?).

Kerry Washington truly delivers as Olivia Pope, who is the defiant leader of the OPA Gladiators, who are, together, a force to be reckoned with. I am particularly fond of Quinn and Huck, who are broken yet strong characters who are committed to the team.

Scandal is definitely one to watch if you enjoy political dramas!

Teen Wolf

Teen Wolf has had a great run so far! Granted that the supernatural storylines are so unrealistic as well as most of the action scenes, this show is still so good and it keeps you coming back for more.

Each season is led by a new supernatural event or entity hellbent on killing people and destroying Beacon Hills. And, of course, our group of teenage heroes try to stop them by any means necessary whilst also juggling school and everything else that a typical teenager has to deal with.

I think that the cast really drives the show and characters such as Stiles and Scott are adored by fans. It will be a shame to see the show end this season but I think that it is about time - those kids have been through enough! They need a break from all the supernatural drama in Beacon Hills!

I am extremely impressed by this show! It is a mixture of gritty drama with some dark comedy thrown in to appeal to a wider audience. Letty is such a complex character with a troubled past and Michelle Dockery really does her justice! Letty and Javier are a force to be reckoned with; I love them as an unofficial couple. I'm so excited for S2; I hope that it lives up the the greatness of S1.
