THE WALKING DEAD: WORLD BEYOND - SEASON ONE

World Beyond: a lot of talk, and not much to show for it.

FARZAR - SEASON ONE

Farzar is a hoot. It is the perfect, chaotic amalgamation of zany sci-fi elements, awkward humor, adult jokes, poop jokes, and commentaries on the various social issues that plague humanity at this very moment.

MISSING YOU - SEASON ONE

Missing You ultimately fails to deliver in any satisfactory manner, losing the gut-wrenching thrill that its predecessors had and the signature, unpredictable twists. So as long as you’re not expecting small screen mastery, or indeed the performance of year (it is the first of January after all) then do go forth and gobble up this latest Coben drama.

NIGHTFLYERS - SEASON ONE

Don't even test out Nightflyers. Let it die as early and as inevitably as its entire cast.

WELCOME TO EDEN - SEASON ONE

If you sit back and don’t think about it too hard, Welcome to Eden is classic binge material. The whole show has a dreamy, hypnotic, creepy feel to it, which makes it easy to devour one episode after another late into the night.

THE BARRIER (LA VALLA) - SEASON ONE

Well-paced; somewhat cliched plot. It's not going to become a classic, but it's enjoyable enough.

CLASS - SEASON ONE

Much like the Spanish original, there's lots of sex, drugs, and unexpected turns, which makes it come across as an adaptation of Elite; bogged down by its own ambitions.

UNDER THE BRIDGE - SEASON ONE

In a story like this, it’s frightfully easy to flatten a tragedy into entertainment. Under the Bridge didn’t let viewers forget about the human at the heart of the story and it was a radical approach that I hope we see more of in the future.

HIGH WATER - SEASON ONE

The melodramatic character subplots just feel too manipulative and trite. Strangely, there's hardly a drop of rain to be seen and yet this is the entire reason it happened. An incredible downpour lasting days soaked ever inch of soil and yet all we are aware of this is through scientific jargon. Perhaps the difficulty of shooting on a limited budget meant sacrificing technically challenging torrential rain. It left a strange and improbable calmness instead.

A GOOD GIRL'S GUIDE TO MURDER - SEASON ONE

If you’re looking for a little bite-sized mystery, helmed by a determined, clever girl on a quest for the truth, I definitely recommend A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder.
