ANGELA BLACK - SEASON ONE

Last week I watched the first episode and gave it two stars; called it a tawdry, garish thriller trading on female fear. So I watched the full season and concluded I was wrong. It is worse than that.

XO, KITTY - SEASON ONE

This series doesn't try to be more than it is: an American-made show with a K-drama vibe, sprinkled with a few lessons on growing up. Nobody asked for it, but it's here.

RAMY - SEASON ONE & TWO

I love this show, and even though it has won a Golden Globe, I do not understand why it is not a much, much bigger hit. Hilariously cringeworthy scenes aside, this is a fantastic show that it is easy to gallop through, as it takes a fresh and frank look at a group that historically hasn't been shown much on TV.

THE SISTER - SEASON ONE

The Sister feels like the old British horror series from the 1970s -- moody lighting, mysteriously misty laneways -- but the first-rate acting keeps things from getting too cheesy.

EUPHORIA - SEASON TWO

The series doubles down on its claim as the classiest and most artistic form of the lowbrow high school drama ever. You never know where you're gonna end up when you ride Euphoria's emotional rollercoaster, but at least you know that you won't be bored.

THE TEACHER - SEASON ONE

Most viewers will stick around until the final credits roll to learn how this whole sorry saga will be resolved. However, don't get confused - that doesn't constitute entertainment or a synonym for good.

MONSTER: THE JEFFREY DAHMER STORY - SEASON ONE

While this new limited series is indeed chilling and sometimes hard to watch, Murphy and long-time collaborator Ian Brennan steer clear of the lurid, showing respect for the serial killer’s victims.

THE SECRET - SEASON ONE

The four-part drama tells the horrifying true story behind the devastating double murder of Lesley Howell and Trevor Buchanan more than 30 years ago. It’s an equally scary portrait of the community – devout to the point that religion becomes a cover to throw over serious evil and pretend it’s not happening. And where being shunned by or expelled from the congregation is considered a worse option than doing really bad stuff, like disobeying commandment number six.

THE RECRUIT - SEASON ONE

The Recruit has a somewhat addictive quality despite its flaws, propelled mainly by a decent level of intrigue and the lead's loveability. I had fun with it and breezed through the season without any regrets. However, by the finale, I was left wondering if what I had just watched amounted to anything truly memorable. As a binge-watcg, you could do worse.

THE WATCHER - SEASON ONE

Series creators Ian Brennan and Ryan Murphy, inspired by a true story, turn the stacked cast into delicious characters. The casting is the best decision Ryan Murphy made because they manage to salvage the unsalvageable in a great mystery with a lousy ending. Still, a good binge-watch.
