Franklin & Bash

I was sorry to see this one cancelled. While the bachelor, comrades in arms duo, story line weakens as the leads hit 40, and would likely have more permanent female relationships, the plots continued to be interesting to progressive people, and we need more of that on TV.

The two had just the right balance of snarkiness and dedication to one another.

A decent introduction to BITCOINS in the latest episode...and one other episode was interesting (I am getting confused over some of his non-CNN documentaries from the past, and his ethics sometimes take at least a side seat if not a backseat to FACTS) At the very least, he gives you an idea of what the normal 20 something will know about a topic, and also give you directions for real research.

they are well into season FIVE...and SIDEREEL still is stuck on season FOUR

If you are ready for the idea of a place to live that doesn't take up half your income, it is time to start thinking about how you can live large in a small space. Once you start thinking about it, it kind of takes over your life. There are now three shows (two on FYI and one on HGTV) that focus on small and tiny homes. The ideas they use can help all of us get down to what is really important.

Fans of TINY HOUSES will appreciate the ideas here. I am a fan of the FYI network and their other TINY HOUSE NATION program that is in its second season. Be sure to catch them every week, or you will be locked out of the older episodes if you are a CORD CUTTER.

Criminal Minds

Criminal Minds is a great BINGE WATCH from the very beginning. The characters for a decade now have grown up and I really find them endearing and quirky. Their profiling skills seem a bit superhuman at times, but they never lose sight of their TEAMWORK even when a new person is introduced. I am not sure how I feel about the addition of the Jennifer Love Hewitt. Not sure that they need another pretty woman. Part of the draw is that the characters are more ordinary with physical flaws as well as back stories that give them depth.

Okay, for those not old enough to recognize ELIZA DOOLEY for ELIZA DOLITTLE from PYGMALION or from MY FAIR LADY, this is a charming show of rebirth and recognition of how fast things are changing in the modern world. The two main characters have so much chemistry that it is just oozing admiration and redemption at the same time.

I binged watched the first four episodes and plan on making it a regular watch because the characters are intriguing and as a registered old fart, I want to see more of what is happening in the world of the young.

OKAY>>>I had to give Debra Messing another chance and it seems that she is finding herself in the role instead of forcing a laugh track to the role.
***********
The supporting cast is quite good, but Debra Messing is playing it as a 1940's detective story, not this century at all. The premise is well played out, in that their house doesn't look like it is from a decorating magazine, but the kids are a bit over the top.

The characters haven't developed totally yet, but there are some interesting situations where there can be some real depth. The political focus on power and control at any cost is quite disturbing and can apply to many of today's issues, so there is plenty of room for social protest and possible solutions. Time will tell!

Miss Fisher is one of those thoroughly modern women who happened to live in the Roaring Twenties before the Great Depression. However, her skills with the gun she continues to use are greatly lacking. Sometimes I wonder if it is loaded, because it usually ends up in the wrong hands, and she never seems perturbed by the idea.

Other than that, it is a fun mystery series with clever plot twists and a totally enjoyable romp.

I have watched about three or four of the series and find they are slow paced, but do have some new material that has been discovered or understood only in recent years. I have seen TUT, Chinese Warriors and my favorite, recent info on what have been called the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

It is not just talking heads and still pictures, but re-enactments and lots of detailed information on new technology.
