I enjoyed this from start to finish with very few lapses of interest. The constant twists and turns and love interests shifting regularly seemed to fit the lifestyle of the rich and not famous quite well. I am pleased with the finale and glad they didn't try to suck another season out of it.
If you like this one...check out FIND ME A MAORI BRIDE...wacky situational humor done by actual native New Guineans.
Can't believe I haven't already reviewed this one...It is amazing! The characters are all believable and the situations are so clever and REAL, but not trivialized at all. The growth of the characters is a one step forward two steps back at times, but then they get back on track. I loved the SUPER GUY who turned into a bad guy.
I am trying to get into this story...I like ARROW a lot (at least until recently...not a fan of the ras alguul plotline), and I even remember Flash's sidekick from HUNG, but even the crossovers don't seem to really do much for me...the only real thing that is intriguing me is the professor's backstory.
I miss this show. I really enjoyed the spinoff premise where the CM crew went after sex traffickers and assassins...in a kind of OFF BOOK method.
At times it is nice to watch a simpler world where good and evil are manageable even when judgments of behavior are pretty strictly enforced by public opinion. When Calls the Heart has some decent actors and actresses, but too often the acting is more what people put on in public than real emotion.
Wow, I lost interest in this one when the new guy came into Annie's life and I could never tell if he was a good guy or a bad guy. I really missed Auggie and Annie as an item.
Obviously he can't be quite as much of a douche as he appears to be, since his staff really seem to care about him, but he really is annoying.
I may adjust this downward a bit if I don't get back into the story soon. I watched about half the season, and just never got back to it. The star is really MEAN, not STRONG, and the idea that lawyers go through all the machinations I saw were not positive at all. I didn't feel sorry for the characters as much as disdain.
Is this one worth watching? I am a fervent NCIS fan, and will likely even catch up on NCIS:LA this summer, but even though I love Scott Bakkula, and like his character (even with some minor flaws and hidden past), I could never really get into this one. I watched it a few times when it first came out, but there seemed to be a bit of turnover in the supporting cast, and they didn't reach me.
I wanted to like this series. The people are interesting and not all the "beautiful people" that seem to be everywhere on TV, and the historical tidbits can be interesting and even a bit educational in a painless fashion (always to be admired by a retired teacher), but the plots seemed a bit too trite and the magic seems to make the impossible too easy (even though the magic always has a limitation and a payback).
