Code Black

I haven't watched ER shows since they broke 'ER' somewhere around season 5 and turned it into a rom-com with a dash of medicine. 'Code Black' has restored my faith in one of my favourite genres.

I realized something watching this most recent episode, and I wanted to throw it there. Why is it that the creators of TWD and FTWD seem to have it in for moms? With Madison's stunt from last episode, drawing every breathing soul within walking distance to the hotel, it suddenly hit me. Starting with Lori, followed by Diana and Jessie, and rounded out by Madison, it seems that every woman whose motherhood is in part of the story arc apparently turns into a drooling idiot at the thought of her kids whereabouts. It doesn't even seem to be about safety for the child, but rather 'I lost my baby, here - have my mind, and my common sense, and every other part that makes me a survivor'
I resent this, and I object! I think it is an incredibly unrealistic bias that is coming out here - the dads seem to get it together eventually - but the mom's never do - until either they or the kid is dead.
And reality of the human condition has shown that moms are equally capable of making the smart choice, the brave decision, the logical conclusion when it comes to the safety of their offspring, as dad's - and often: Even more so!

So how about it creators? Can we have a kick-ass momma bear with a brain for a change?

The Player

So 'The Player'..... Very badly advertised, but fresh concept. Could be a great show, except for a very prominent, blatant fact - This is a show try waaaay to hard to be cool.
Mostly flash, little substance. mr. Snipes, you are slipping my friend.
S01E03 - The chase starting at the diveshop - for go*'s sake ppl, we are talking about a very violent cartel about to be on your ass - and you time to use 2 hands to put on your sunglasses??!; JB could get away with that - but not you.
Way too little back story on player (spec force background that gave him his skills), dealer (a 20-something in this world, with these skills - dressing and acting like a sorority girl) and of course the pitboss - who the hell is this guy sposed to have been?
A little more insight on the horrible things the gamblers would get up to if not for the game would also be nice.

So all in all - Ama-Zing potential, very little deliverance so far.
