Body Of Proof follows medical examiner; Dr. Megan Hunt. A once renowned neurosurgeon until a car accident cost her her career. The show focuses on Hunt trying to balance the demands of her professional life; solving cases and analyzing bodies with her personal life; reconnecting with her daughter.
I loved this show, although each episode followed a different "case" you got to follow the lives of the characters, namely Megan. I would love a re-boot of this, it was great!
Black-ish centers around The Johnson's; a strong, successful black family living in a white mans world. Andre (Dre) is a successful advertising executive who wants to pass on his urban culture to his children (who seem to be oblivious); Zoe, Junior, Jack and Diane. His wife Rainbow (Bow) is a Dr, raised by her Hippy parents leaving her to be the more relaxed parent. Dre's parents Ruby and Earl (Pops) also play a big part in their lives.
Honestly the show reminds me of a modern take on My Wife And Kids, with similar humour from both Anthony Anderson and Damon Wayans. I've enjoyed every episode so far and I am looking forward to seeing where they take the show with their new addition to the family and Zoe going to college..ish :)
Just in case you live under a rock, The Big Bang Theory centers around a group of geeky scientists and friends, Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and Raj. Their routine of reading comic books and playing dungeons and dragons whilst having takeout is turned upside down when a beautiful aspiring actress, Penny, moves in across the hall.
I won't give too many spoilers but two more women, Bernadette and Amy join the cast and over the years job promotions, experiments, marriage and babies are thrown into the mix.
This is just one of them shows that you can't get enough of, it draws you in week after week and there is never a dull moment. I love it, and you will too! :) I can't wait for the next season and I'm looking forward to seeing where they go with their prequel; Young Sheldon too!
Bad Judge follows the personal and rather wild life of a Los Angeles County Judge, Rebecca Wright. She's tough as nails, wild as hell and loves to party.
Kate Walsh is brilliant, I've loved everything that I have seen her in and this is no exception. 13 episodes just wasn't enough!
Back In The Game follows the life of Terry Gannon Jr, her son Danny and her father Terry Sr. Terry was once an All Star softball player who thanks to life's many curve balls lost her scholarship and had a baby (Danny).
I really enjoyed the show and was disappointed that they didn't give it a chance.
Baby Daddy follows a group of 20 something friends; Ben, his brother Danny, Tucker and Riley who have the surprise of their life when a forgotten one night stand of Ben's leaves his baby daughter, Emma, on their doorstep. Ben decides to raise her with the help of his friends and his mother, Bonnie.
I absolutely love this show, seeing the characters progress throughout the seasons and seeing little Emma grow. I just hope that Sidereel is right with the "Hiatus" mark as I was under the impression it had concluded at the end of the last season. I just feel that they need to round it off, even if it's just for one fast forward episode! I definitely recommend watching :)
All 3 seasons of American Crime follow characters played by Felicity Huffman, Timothy Hutton, Richard Cabral, Benito Martinez, Lili Taylor and Regina King, each one playing a different character, in a different storyline each season.
The first season follows the story of a home invasion and murder, the second season follows the story of a teenage boy who is sexually assaulted at a party and the third and final season follows stories of human trafficking.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching all 3 seasons and was rather disappointed when I found out they had cancelled it :( Although before watching the show I thought the cast playing different characters each season wouldn't work, I believed they did really well and I would definitely recommend watching if you haven't already.
13 Reasons Why follows high school student Clay Jensen whilst he listens to a box tapes left to him (and several others) by his friend Hannah Baker, a misunderstood teenage girl who killed herself. The box of tapes recorded by Hannah before her death lists 13 reasons why she killed herself, each tape being aimed at a different person in her life.
Honestly this is one of the best teen shows I have seen in a while, we binge watched the whole season in one night and loved every bit of it, each episode leaves you wanting more! Although the show handles several controversial subjects including suicide and rape, I think they told these stories well.
I'm really looking forward to what Season 2 has in store for us!
Married With Children follows the life of the Bundy family. Al, a once talented High School football player, is now a woman's shoe salesman with a life he loves to complain about. Peggy, Al's stay at home wife, who would rather sit around watching TV than cook and clean the house. Kelly, their promiscuous, and clueless daughter. Bud their girl-crazy, wisecracking son. And their Dog Buck.
Although the remarks (jokes) made by Al can sometimes seem quite crude or offensive, the humour overall is all in good nature and it's a great show.
8 Simple Rules definitely takes me back to a simpler day; early 2000's, coming home from school and catching up with the Hennessy family (and all the love and drama that came with them!)
Dealing with relationships, work and death, the show is something the whole family will love and relate to.
The writers of the show did an amazing job of dealing with the sudden death of actor John Ritter in 2003. Instead of simply replacing his character Paul, they decided to mirror the real world. Katey Sagal, Kaley Cuoco, Amy Davidson and Martin Spanjers didn't have to act heartbroken at losing their onscreen Husband and Father, they were genuinely heartbroken about losing their good friend and co-worker John. Whilst the Hennessy family onscreen were adjusting to life without Paul, off screen they were adjusting to life without John. The entire cast and crew did a brilliant job that John Ritter I'm sure would be proud of, they definitely did him justice.
James Garner and David Spade brought something new to the show and rather than just replacing John Ritter they helped the characters (and viewers) move on from the death of Paul/John.
