Meh... it wants to be an awesome show, but really it is a bunch of tweens in over their head trying to be adults in a plot that would be better played by stronger actors who have been adults for more than 5 years. UPDDATE: After two full seasons and 3 episodes into season 3, I just can't do it. I can't suspend my disbelief enough to believe that these teen and twenty somethings are now warriors and commanders. Untracking.

This show barely made the cut for me... it is raunchy humour without a point or likeable characters, yet I let this play in the background while I wash dishes or surf the internet.

At first I liked this... I gave it 3.5 stars, now dropped it to 2.5 stars. The pilot seemed like it was going somewhere fun, sort of like the similar Canadian show Being Erica; that aired in Canada and the US. But this show is getting dumber by the episode. It is just about this woman's failed relationships... we're 10 episodes in and she's been in love three times. Seriously? If they cancel this, I won't miss it.

After two seasons I've finally given up. Compared to everything else offered on TV today , most of which is mediocre, this is the bottom of the barrel. I just can't watch it anymore.

UPDATED: I gave a mediocre review of this show because I didn't see any cause for the hype surrounding it other than James Spader being in the cast (despite that horrible head-tilt thing he does when he speaks). I kept watching Seasons 1 and 2, not because it was great, just because it was good and I was invested in the storyline.
Now after watching the first episode of Season 3, I am thinking WOW! And asking myself whether there are new directors? ddid Agent Keen take some acting classes? the writing has always been good, but the delivery was lacking, so did everyone rest up this summer? It is like a whole new show and I can actually say I really enjoy this show and I can believe the hype.

The acting is good, because, well, look at the cast. But how is this any different than the ten thousand other cop shows? Oh, they focus on stalkers... no real difference between this and the other cop shows except that this one stars Nikita, oh, I meant Maggie Q. So if your a fan of hers, tune in, if not, don't bother.

Ooooohh I love Halle Berry, so imagine my surprise when I tuned into this show and realized how bad of an actress she really is! It seemed like a great story, but not a single actor stands out as being good, and maybe that is because the story takes a turn and perhaps none of them can mask the fact that this is just a mediocre show with mediocre writing and direction.

UPDATE: That was my Season 1 review. For season 2, they got rid of their lack of chemistry problem and actually gave Halle something to work with...and they've given Meryl Streep's daughter a larger role. It is essentially a brand new show... much better.

I watched episode after episode waiting to laugh, because after all, this is supposed to be a comedy and it very clearly has a talented, experienced cast. Unfortunately, I managed to get through SIX episodes and only laughed once in the sixth episode. No, it is not getting funny finally, it was a one-off. I give up and cannot watch anymore of this show.

I find it so funny that other online message boards and article comment sections about this show have so many complaints about it being "too political". Watchmen has always been political; the only issue that the people have with the "political" nature now is that it deals with racism in America instead of the previous Watchmen comics or even the movie that dealt with nuclear war, Russians vs Americans, Vietnamese vs Americans, conservatives vs liberal, and rouge corrupt vigilantes vs the government and police.

Looking closely at any of those things is uncomfortable at best and it is much easier to do in hindsight rather than while in the present moment dealing with it in real life and then watching it play out on screen or in a comic book or in a movie theatre, but Watchmen has always been topical and timely. So why do so many take issue with it? Because they prefer to pretend that racism no longer exists and people should "get over it" because it is "in the past", but it is not, otherwise it wouldn't be ruffling so many feathers of those who at the very least hold some bias towards some ethnic groups and at worst are racists.

The shows I tend to seek out for entertainment are typically escapist genres.... fantasy, sci-fi, things that couldn't possibly happen in real life. Then of course I enjoy dramas but with so much drama (in the LBC :) in real life, certain dramas I stay away from, like police procedurals, hospital dramas and legal dramas. Seeing this episode was a jolt because it showed that the first ten minutes of the show, which was based on real life events, was something that most Americans did not learn in school and only learned of it though this show. That is beyond sad and it wasn't the only time that was done in American history.

Did I expect to see that in Watchmen? No. Is it out of place in Watchmen? Nope. Will it cause me to stop watching Watchmen? Of course not, the acting in the pilot was superb and although the topic is different, the Watchmen formula is still there (good guys/bad guys/impending doom or war) and I can't wait to see how everything unfolds. This was excellent. Would I rather not watch a show that covers the harsh realities of racism while there is still racism in the world? Of course! A part of me wishes that they had chosen another current event causing strife in the world, but at the same time, look at how many people googled the event in the first ten minutes to find out if it was a real event (see the several articles on the increase in searches for the event and the many comment sections under those articles with people saying they'd never heard of it). So obviously the history lesson was needed so I'm mostly glad they chose this.

(Copied from my review of the first episode because it is applicable to the entire series.)

I've never really been a fan of Chuck Lore's shows... the comedy is never such that it makes me laugh but it is good storytelling. While the whole boy loves girl thing has been done before, this is done nicely. As a comedy, I didn't find it funny but it is a cute show that I will likely not watch any further episodes of unless there's absolutely nothing else better on TV.... which there is.
