NO GOOD DEED - SEASON ONE
No Good Deed has no such force to mitigate the glib jokes and exhausting, seemingly random left turns. It was pure obligation, not enjoyment or even curiosity, that kept me watching past the premiere.
HOUSE OF DRAGON - SEASON ONE
While the first season is about setting up the chess board and introducing the players, it is also slow and a bit disorienting as it jumps ahead in time on several occasions. However, with a strong, talented cast, fans of the original show will more than likely find this to be a worthy successor -- by season two, at least.. I hope.
THE LAST OF US - SEASON ONE
It was somewhat worrying that the series' first display of true greatness was a standalone story that barely featured our main characters... but it stays consistently good to excellent throughout.
BLOOD AND WATER - SEASON ONE
Anchored by up-and-coming filmmaker Nosipho Dumisa and her crop of talented young, local actors, the refreshing mystery series proves the best teen dramas are not from America.
TITANS - SEASON ONE
The production design looks cheap, the fight scenes perfunctory and forgettable, and Starfire is the only lead character in the initial episodes to make much of an impression at all.
THE BREAK - SEASON ONE
Is this a reflection of police procedure in Belgium? More like a racist Keystone Kops.
THE HANDMAIDEN'S TALE - SEASON FOUR
The Handmaid's Tale is a haunting confluence of tenses. It's also one of the best shows of all time, at times hard to watch but impossible to ignore.
THE WOMAN IN THE HOUSE ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE GIRL IN THE WINDOW - SEASON ONE
The show is so concerned with trying to be something that it ends up being nothing; it's neither clever or captivating.
THEM - SEASON ONE
The horror may traumatize, and that doesn't make it bad or unworthy of your attention. But the downside of 'Them' is that it does not truly care about Black people. It only knows how to wring terror from the pain we experience.
INTO THE NIGHT - SEASON ONE
Into the Night has no pretensions at being anything other than an "End of Days" disaster movie, but boy is it a mess. No rules, no sense, plenty disappointment.
