When it started, I thought it was headed in a certain direction and it goes somewhere else entirely. It's a must watch with a great moral: You can't just keep the good and discard the bad; you have to live with both.

The stories were plodding, melodramatic garbage and the episodes weren't even well made. They've abandoned the mystery format that makes Holmes such a fun character to be around. In an almost literal sense, they've lost the plot.

LIAR - SEASON TWO

All involved do their very best with it, and the direction and cinematography is stylish. But I can't help wishing Earlham had been left to rot in his sludgy grave, with no further explanation for his demise required.

I MAY DESTROY YOU - SEASON ONE

I May Destroy You is fascinating TV, taking a dark subject and turning it every which way. It can be shocking, it can be fun (which is also somewhat shocking), it can hurt and maybe even heal. No matter what, it's an unsettling revelation.

RICK AND MORTY - SEASON THREE


It has transformed into not only one of the sharpest, most surreal, nerdy comedies on television but also a treatise on the same sort of ambiguous head-space the Internet and popular culture forces us to reside in any way.

ORPHAN BLACK - SEASON ONE


The show is suspenseful and addictive.The performance of its lead actress, Tatiana Maslany, whose nuanced turns as a series of clones is nothing short of breathtaking. By the time you finish watching the first season, you may not even realize that it's examining deep questions about the meaning of selfhood.
