3 BODY PROBLEM - SEASON ONE
I mainly begun watching it because of the controversary surrounding the commissioning of the show (seriously, look it up!) but I can say I wasn't disappointed. What's the saying? "No expectations, no disappointments". It asks a series of interesting questions and presents a string of intriguing SciFi ideas in the process. It results in an engaging and mysterious series that will keep viewers invested from start to finish.
DEAD BOY DETECTIVES - SEASON ONE
Every time Dead Boy Detective trips on its own laces, calling out a weak gag or spooning on the snark too thick, it feels that much more disappointing.
DARK - SEASON ONE
Slow stumbles, with no small amount of self-importance, into the same erroneous belief as Westworld, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones: That the twist in the story ... is enough to sustain a narrative that lacks the scaffolding of strong characterization.
BOARDERS - SEASON ONE
The show strikes an ideal balance between brutal honesty and empathetic tenderness, social commentary and fun!
THE BROTHERS SUN - SEASON ONE
There’s really nothing here; no excellent drama to sink your teeth into, only the most tepid comedic bits you’ve seen a thousand times before, yawn-inducing dialogue, and a plot that wavers between serviceable and nonsensical, but never better.
CABINET OF CURIOSITIES - SEASON ONE:
There’s unnerving and then there’s just unpleasant, and sticking a monster in a story in which an impossible-to-like character meets his or her inevitable end doesn’t automatically supply shudders.
SQUID GAME: THE CHALLENGE - SEASON ONE
The show nailed Squid Game, down to how entertaining it would be to watch this all go down.
SEE - SEASON ONE
As a piece of throwaway fantasy escapism, See offers a diverting off-road adventure, though it is aimed at adults. One imagines it would have been suitable for the family were it not for the unnecessary inclusion of graphic violence. Jason Momoa and Alfre Woodard propel a savage, strangely compelling sci-fi fantasy/drama, set in a dystopian future.
WHO IS ERIN CARTER? - SEASON ONE
The who in Who Is Erin Carter? is less important than the what. The answer to that is: a fun, mindless way to spend seven hours in a sun-baked but grimy Barcelona, careening through plot twists as enjoyably dizzy as the car chases, engaging narrative, despite the fact that her enemies slowly make themselves known throughout and force her to engage in brutal, bloody, fatal clashes.
