Mad TV was one of the best. It made fun of every demographic, party, race, celebrity, religion, or idea imaginable. Mad TV was raunchy and never very PC. This show was very funny and had a lot of brilliant sketches. The characters can be hilarious in their own way. The celebrity impressions are hilarious! MAD TV had some really funny parodies and a lot of funny recurring characters. The greatest things about this show was how over-the-top it was in oh-so-funny ways. The mockery and satirical parodies from music, movies, TV shows, video games, toys, real-life problems, bathroom humor, practically everything, and I mean everything. When watching the show, it was like reading Mad magazine put on television, it was fun.
Johnny Bravo, among many many other cartoons, comes from a time when creators had almost completely free reign on what the put out, provided it didn't have nudity or swear words...aside from that, anything was fair game. The show is simply hilarious! It is so funny when Johnny Bravo tries to get a date and always gets rejected. Johnny is a very overconfident person who needs to chill out but he sure makes you laugh. The concept was simple, but very original. The show had great animation, had excellent voice work, clever music, a funny, likable and endearing protagonist in the name of Johnny Bravo, witty writing and fun story lines. the supporting cast of characters works well. The humor in this show is geared more toward adults than children. The earlier seasons were the best. In later seasons the animation changed and the quality was not so good.
It's is one of the best show if you like anecdotal and observational comics. Perfect blend of sarcasm, humor, high school drama, social and psychological problems, not only for teenagers but all adults as well. Every character has a very specific personality, and most all of them actually develop as the show goes on. The humor can be dry, but is incredible if you actually get it. I think it can be best said that you have to be able to appreciate intelligent humor to laugh at this. "Daria" was a great series with its own merits. It was funny, clever and ironic, but at the same time managed to have many sincere heartwarming moments. It was even cute occasionally, without being corny. What made "Daria" so good (besides the excellent jokes) were the characters, which were much more complex that one could expect: At first sight, each one of them seems like the classic cliques and stereotypes from many other teen stories (the dumb blonde cheerleader, the Gothic girl, the dumb jock and the eccentric teachers) but a closer look showed that each one of them had a much more interesting and well developed personality, being each one of them very funny and likable.
I started watching this show and immediately became hooked. Every episode left me wanting more. I loved the first two seasons and kept hoping that it would get better, but each successive season just got worse and worse. This show will make you feel all sorts of emotions. Each season has a different story line but you'll find one thing that is constant throughout: that family is always above everything else. This show will teach you about love and sacrifice and what people do to protect the ones they love. You will fall in love with the characters because despite their flaws you just can't help but fall in love with them. Even the villains are so charismatic and you'll love to hate them. The background music & songs played in every episode really capture your mind because each & every song suits the scene they are paired with. You will laugh with this show, cry with this show, smile with this show, you will get emotional watching this show. The actors/actresses are absolutely outstanding in the show and have amazing chemistry and work very well together. This show had it all; blood, romance, passion, betrayal, revenge, humor, everything someone could possibly want in a TV show. I am/was a Stelena (now and forever) shipper. They never should have paired Damon and Elena together. That was the beginning of the end of the good quality of the show. I literally cried when Elena dumped Stefan for Damon. Damon brought out all Elena's worst traits. That relationship was so toxic and manipulative. One thing I couldn’t understand was why everyone was always so hard on Stefan at the end. He made mistakes and killed many people but so did Damon and they didn’t hold both brothers to the same standard. I mean, Damon literally kills Elena's brother and Stefan's best friend and does all kinds of horrible stuff and then it's just forgotten. Whereas Stefan was constantly held accountable for everything he did. He felt remorse for all his horrible deeds and Damon didn't. I think that Julie Plec had it out for Stefan and did what ever she could to sabotage the character and his relationship with Elena (who she totally destroyed character wise). I read the books and they should have followed them more (even thought there were some out there story lines). They changed the whole story and even the main couple who were destined together i.e. Stefan and Elena. I only read the ones that L.J. Smith wrote (I refuse to read the ghost written ones). I only watched the whole series for Stefan because I loved him as a character. He was done so wrong in so many ways. Who thought that Stefan and Caroline made a good couple, literally anyone in their right minds wouldn't think so. I think that Stefan and Caroline were SO MUCH BETTER as friends. I think that Julie Plec catered too much to the fans (Delena shippers), the show and the story lines suffered as a result. I really think they should have ended the show at season 6. The last 2 season should not have happened. I really didn't like how they ended the show. The finale was just terrible.
This show is definitely for mythological lovers. Even though the show mainly took place in Greece, the two heroines, Xena and Gabrielle did fight for the greater good in other parts of the world. This show did get more serious and dark as the seasons went by, but there are always some comedic episodes in every seasons to lighten up the mood. It was a pleasure to see a show that had two female leads, good story lines, and really beautiful scenery in the form of New Zealand. This show had action, drama, humor, love, relationships, and life lessons. This was a show about the strength of women, the power of friendship, and that even the smallest of us can become something great. Skilled actresses and actors took us all over history bringing the past alive. The main characters Xena and Gabrielle were easy to identify with. Over the course of six seasons, you see them grow as they learn what their truly made of and what their morals and beliefs are. Ultimately, it was a show about good triumphing over evil, but more than that, it was a show of groundbreaking themes and memorable characters. This show had strong female leads who accept responsibility for their choices and their actions, good and bad. You have great chemistry between the two stars, and you have enough smarts to know how to combine all of these things into a show that succeeds more than it fails. They covered thought provoking themes such as redemption, the greater good, moral dilemmas, grief, anger, betrayal, relationships, friendship, and the power of love. It was heart-wrenching at times and hilarious at other times.
This show could make me cry, and laugh, sometimes in the same episode. The best thing was the character development. You should pay attention to every episode. Plot elements, ideas, items and people carry through the show. It's charming, witty, on-point, and with an a very well cast group of actors. You couldn’t find better actors to play the parts based off their chemistry. The character driven plot and "what happens next" formula for episodes really pulls you in and makes you interested. Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay's portrayals of characters Neal Caffrey and Agent Peter Burke respectively are incredibly realistic and the duo work very well together within scenes. The characters, both main and support, are utterly irresistible, leaving me wanting to cheer them on and join them in their various, and exciting crusades against the forces of evil, and offer them comfort in their sorrows and commendation in their victories. It was nice to see that they didn't fall into the smart guy/dumb guy routine: Dekay's Fed character starts out smart as a whip, and he stays that way, matching the hilariously cultured and talented con-man step-for-step. The FBI people are well played. They like working with Neal, but you can see that they don't want to let it show, simply because they are the FBI. It is an exceptionally brilliant production. None of the episodes and cases were redundant... and this very suspense made me await the arrival of new episodes. The way you connect with characters in this show is amazing. The building up of primary and secondary characters is pretty good. Its also well paced. This show kept me hooked from the 1st episode. A show full of mystery and suspense yet filled with humor and wit. The pilot immediately caught my attention. I found Burke and Caffrey's relationship very charming- the writers didn't pretend to make them dislike each other and to have Caffrey forced upon Burke but instead they have respect for each other and at separate times they both show the level of their friendship with each other. It is funny, clever, well written, the cast is great, and they have obviously made a clear choice to focus on character relationships and not to obsess over getting all the real-life details exactingly accurate. It's intelligent and witty, but not obnoxious. It's subtle references to scholars, artists and pop culture were interesting and entertaining. I liked the finale it was full of twists and turns. A fitting end to a great show.
I never read the comics that this show was adapted from. The premise seemed interesting and i was excited to watch. The Witchblade is a powerful gauntlet-like weapon with a will of its own. Existing since the dawn of time, it chooses each time the right person to be merged with, and Sara is the chosen one of this generation. Witchblade was like a comet, briefly appearing in the sky and then gone before you knew it. The show was stellar. The writing, acting and production values were way off the curve for a television series. The complex relationships between the characters were fascinating and raised issues beyond the stories and the story arc itself was compelling. It was unique, well written, intelligent, and suspenseful and it was a completely different type of cop show. The music was well thought out and exciting. Overall the entire show from the writers to the filming and directing, to the unique style of all of the actor's was fantastic. No episode was dull or boring and the actors brought their characters to life. In addition to the wonderfully detailed plots and excellent characters, Witchblade was a triumph in technical performance. The sets were consistently excellent. The crew took chances with different styles of lighting and camera angles. Time lapse photography and stop action were used to good effect, and yet they did not jar the viewer. The soundtrack was recognized with award nominations, and rightly so. The dialog was extraordinarily well written, and stayed fresh throughout the series. Editing was tight and crisp. Such a character-driven fantasy/action type show is rare and wonderful. The action scenes ere intense. The writers did a great job developing each character. I love it when shows include history in the plots when it fits. Flashbacks and foreshadowing add insight and intrigue. The witty humor of the characters makes you laugh and cry at the same time. It is not unheard of for the show to take you through the whole range of emotions in one hour. I loved watching Witchblade it was wonderfully written and the actors and actress truly made the story come alive. It is a shame that the show was canceled. I was disappointed when it was canceled.
UC: UNDERCOVER was a very slick action-thriller that was heavy on complicated plots and very stylized cinematography. The Special Operations Group is an elite unit within the Justice Department that busts the country's most untouchable lawbreakers by going under cover. The story-lines were interesting and there was plenty of action and suspense in each episode. It's full of action, suspense, drama, comedy! It's got everything! The characters are great! This show has a movie feel to it. The way it's filmed, written, and acted. The writing, direction and acting always made you forget you were watching your TV, rather making you believe you were out there, experiencing with the performers the drama and tension of working undercover, never knowing if at any moment, you might be recognized. I've watched this program from the beginning. The characters are serious about what they do, but still show their human side. There is an intensity that keeps me wanting to watch more and more. The music was great and led us right along the path the writers, producers, directors wanted us on. The character development kept me coming back for more. This show was Intelligent, thoughtful, resourceful, heartbreaking, and riveting. This show suffered from lack of good promotion, and the misfortune of being frequently pre-empted by awards shows, film re-runs and other delays and postponements that caused the audience to wonder if this was actually a weekly series, and therefore caused the audience lack of interest and loyalty that NBC used as the reason for cancellation. NBC cancelled it before the season was even over, but I do have to give them credit for at least airing two final finished episodes, especially since one of them featured a story that closed the door on the Sonny Walker subplot and gave fans at least that much amount of closure.
Timeless is easily one of the most engaging, plot driven, layered, brilliant, gripping, heart stopping shows. Timeless's riveting adventures take you to some of the most thrilling, volatile and critical events on record, including a venture to the Old West, a sojourn to the Alamo, a visit to the famous Chicago World's Fair and a crusade into Nazi Germany. Along the way, the main characters cross paths with famous historical icons, such as Josephine Baker, Harry Houdini, Ernest Hemingway and infamous rivals Eliot Ness and Al Capone. But every step the team takes to protect history puts everything we know at risk -- because changing one thing changes everything. It was always exciting, edge of your seat and not predictable like most shows on tv. The story line was fascinating and left me wanting. The little known insights into history were a great draw for me. The actors made me care about them and there situations and I felt like I was part of their on screen family. Everything about the show like the storytelling, acting, historical portrayals and costume design, to name a few, are absolutely fantastic. Not to mention the three main characters have some of the best chemistry you will ever see on-screen and the chemistry between Matt Lanter and Abigail Spencer can't get any better. Needless to say, the casting was perfect. The supporting cast also deserves a shout-out. The cast is lovable and the character build is so unique. I really loved and enjoyed this show and I was heartbroken to see it canceled. I was thrilled when the show came back in movie form to tie up loose ends. I will say though, if it had to go, at least it went out with a bang. Thank you for doing the fans justice by completing the story line. A beautiful and befitting end to an intriguing series. I loved the show and found myself fact-checking on things I didn't know about or wanted to know more about. Even if all the details were not correct, it made us aware of some obscure historical events that we may not have remembered or known about..
This show actually builds upon what has come before and expands the universe that was set up in the first two films. it's not quite like the movies, but that's a good thing. This is a tv show, and thus it requires story arcs that can play out over the course of a whole season. Awesome series. Great script and character development. Lena Headey fits the role well, is believable and manages to perfectly balance Sarah's toughness and leadership role with that of a protective mother who'll do anything to keep her son alive. She's edgy, she's intense, she kicks major butt, but also conveys Sarah's vulnerability in a nicely nuanced performance. Thomas Dekker admirably portrays the troubled young John, and his interaction with his mother is what keeps the series grounded. They have their ups and downs, but what comes across most clearly is how much they care for each other and that they would quite literally move heaven and earth to keep the other one safe. It's one of the strongest mother/son relationships in a series that I've seen in a good long while. The excellent chemistry between the two actors is immediately evident, and it's because of this that their interaction on screen comes across as so believable. Very informative science fiction. Frankly the show is wonderful. It exists on so many levels. To dismiss this as merely an action and explosion show is incorrect. This show is first and foremost about people. The interactions between cast members are refreshingly real. All the cast members give wonderful performances, even down to the lesser players. Probably the most highly underrated entry in the entire Terminator franchise. Great characterization, a wonderful story line that was mapped out perfectly but sadly was not allowed to be fully completed due to its cancellation. It was a great show, and they left it with so many unanswered questions. The people who created this series were talented. I'm extremely frustrated FOX decided to cancel such a promising story.
