Grace Under Fire was an underrated gem of a situational comedy series. The story lines were realistic and meaningful, the jokes were very funny, the supporting cast was great. The series was clever and witty and very humorous. The supporting cast— —fleshed out a genuine portrait of America with believable, sympathetic characters. Grace Under Fire was very realistic, it was entertaining, and at the same time, it touched on a lot of subjects in a short period of time. The first two seasons were very good. The decline started in the third season and the slide picked up steam in the fourth until its end after a shortened fifth season.
This mini-series is for everyone who ever loved fairy tales when they were kids. The performances are all top-notch. The really great thing is the story. It reminds us that not all fairy tales are fluffy and sentimental. Through the voyages of our three main heroes, we see so many of our childhood escapes. Places where only our imagination took us before. Imagination is only part of this miraculous tale. This film keeps with the modern idea of fairy tales with some very dark thematic elements. The story is predictable in a way, but original with some nice touches. It strikes a balance between seriousness and silliness, creating an involving and often funny adventure that grows in complexity as the protagonists traverse the different kingdoms. This story combines all classic fairy tales with a modern twist. The scenery and costumes were great. Although the running time is long, the story keeps your attention and isn't slow paced. The actors did an excellent job. I found myself laughing out loud at the antics of some of the characters. As a complete story it is never boring and that is quite impressive for something over 400 minutes long. This mini-series has spectacular visuals, a compelling story line, and off-beat but lovable characters. The script is excellent with its many references to so many beloved fairy tales. The 10th Kingdom takes you along for the journey that so captivates, you hardly notice the time that passes. This movie is an adventure of epic proportions. It was a visual delight with fantastic effects and locations.
I love this for it's originality and adult humor. The zany content makes it enjoyable when watching an episode out of context yet there is good continuity to make it a lovable show to binge. Each character is carefully crafted resulting in them being relatable and predictable in a fun way. Adult comedy at its finest! Well written dialogue, great personalities, and the ability to never lose your attention, make this one of my favorite shows. The best part about it is the character development and how each of the 8 characters have their own back stories which explains their attitude towards life. The jokes are funny and always make me laugh and sometimes the situations they get in are funny. The character are horrible people, if you met them in really life you would hate them but in the show you can't help but love everyone. The show also introduces loads of new characters that stick around or return every now and again for a episode. With elements like love, action, comedy, family, and workplace politics. Archer is a must watch. You get to know the characters and see them develop as episodes go on. The show doesn't shy away from changing things up. It has the greatest quotes, catch phrases and one liners.
I think this show is both educational and entertaining. The show is a great way to introduce children to science concepts at a young age, as it easily holds their attention the entire time and inspires their imagination. This is a highly entertaining science series. This show has the highest artistic production values. The Magic School Bus is an educational kids' show that has held up fairly well over the course of time. It can be clever, risky, and humorous when it needs to be. It's a creative take on educational purposes that actually pull the child into what's going on. It keeps them actively engaged and is quite amusing to watch as well. This show had good voice acting, good timing on the dialogue, and all of the characters work pretty well. The interesting thing about this show is that at the end of every episode there is a small skit where the "producer" is at home receiving phone calls about the episode just witnessed. This is actually really clever because it allows the show to... break the fourth wall while still being in its own show... literally the producer of the show has Liz (the class pet) with him. These skits help explain "faults" in the episodes. The ending skit with the producer has him receive a call from someone complaining about how "Unrealistic that was". This cleverly allows the show to go into even more dangerous territory. However, The Magic School Bus doesn't avoid dangerous subjects, because it openly explains itself as to why it can do that.
Animaniacs, without question, is one of the best cartoons. It contains jokes for kids, adults, and political jokes. It is not particularly goofy enough for adults to hate, but enough for kids to like. Fun for kids and fun for adults. They make fun of celebrities and politicians alike. The animation is nice and colorful, the voice acting is well done. This cartoon has some of the greatest voice actors in animation, the writing is sharp and funny and it is educational occasionally. This show has a lot of hidden innuendos for the older viewers, pop culture references, and catchy (sometimes educational) songs. I thought that the characters were really funny and all had great personalities. The animation was crisp, clean, and really colorful. The music is great, the show is hilarious, the animation is outstanding. The characters in this show are all very unique and make the show worth watching. Two very famous characters, Pinky and the Brain, had their own spin off show after-wards. It's not just a silly kids' show, but it's full of clever humor that people of any age can appreciate. There are some scenes that I can watch again and again without getting tired of them.
A show brilliant in its uncensored bad behavior and satirical humor. This is one of those rare TV comedies that can be watched over and over and never gets old. In the current climate of social restriction and political correctness, there is something very liberating about watching people do all the things society tells us are bad without one iota of regret. This is made even more powerful by making the characters a pair of middle-aged, upper-crust women who "should know better." Sharp in all departments, with a terrific cast, hilarious (and surprisingly true) writing, and a gorgeously gaudy wardrobe. Joyously self-absorbed chaos is still the name of the game, and nobody plays it better than Eddy and Patsy. These two are the funniest characters ever conceived in a long time. Filled with incredible character development, excellent scripts, and excellent acting, you won't find a comedy better than this. Absolutely Fabulous has a definite oddball sense of humor that can be really hilarious. "Absolutely Fabulous" is, without a doubt, one of the funniest shows to ever come across the pond from the U.K. This series appeals to old & young, male & female, gay & straight. It was the first of its kind and brilliant because of its witty and extremely satirical reflection on people and society.
The show was fresh, sometimes frantic and always whacked-out humor that sizzled with wit wisdom and a sometimes serious comedic slap in the face! I enjoyed the wit and cynicism, that this show brought out as well as crossing various ethnic, moral and mental lines in it's path. This show was guaranteed to make you laugh from beginning to end. My favorite characters were Fire Marshall Bill ("let me show 'ya something!") and Homie the Clown ("Homey don't play dat"). When this show first premiered it was a runaway success. Not only did it have great writing, but it proved to be the springboard for several comedians who would make their mark in film and television. The writing was always sharp. What made the show so great was the writers' and actors' willingness to break boundaries and make fun of all these ethnic stereotypes, and do it in an intelligent and witty fashion. It also ultimately gave a cross section of the politics, the fashion, the trends, and the happenings that occurred in the 1990's in standard comedic form. The cultural taboos of society were dissected, ridiculed and sarcastically played out without any reservations. We laughed at the rich, poor, handicapped, gays, men, women, children, religions, social injustices and politics. Nothing was sacred.
Every part is played pitch perfect and it has good, plausible story lines. The show had the guts to center around a group of characters that were, without question, losers and made no attempt to glamorize them in the usual sitcom way. The cast was exceptional. The writing was sharp, bawdy, crude and was often bust-a-gut hysterically so. The chemistry of all the cast members is awesome, and every one of them is so lovable. This show is very funny. The plot lines are always interesting. The show fairly accurately portrays the plight of the normal, everyday guy who's trying to find both love and success in today's world. Plus, the show sometimes has some highly loony episode story lines and crazy sight-gags that are normally only seen in movies! I would highly recommend this TV series to any serious comedy buff!
This show was great. It was very funny. All the characters were (obviously) reminiscent of the famous DC and Marvel comics characters. Probably what made it so funny. This show was way to short lived and deserved longer time on the air. Ludicrous, over the top and often hilarious cartoon based on the cult comic book character created by Ben Edlund. There is nothing like hearing one of the Tick's rants going on and on and making little to no sense and just laughing it off at the end. The show had memorable characters, villains and very witty dialogue. The voice casting was perfect. This was a series that was too sophisticated for its environment. It didn't really fit in with the Saturday morning kiddie fare and should have been shown in prime time. Still, it was worth getting up Saturday Morning to catch it. The Tick was ingenious, ahead of its time, a mockery of one of the most popular genres of the 90's. Add onto this the great wit, writing, charm, and voice acting, and you have one truly memorable show.
I found this show very enjoyable. I used to watch Bill Nye The Science Guy constantly, I couldn't get enough of it. This show is fun educational and spirited. If only they made more shows like this today. Bill Nye produced a great educational show that was entertaining to both children and adults. This show is very informative, and entertaining. This show was brilliant! It worked on so many levels. It was hip and entertaining in its own right, and very educational. It had decent subject depth per episode and enough repetition to ensure the point got across, yet did not lag and loose the viewer. Each episode would focus on a certain scientific subject. Bill would talk to viewers about this subject, using a lot of humor and demonstrations. The show featured many different sequences, all having something to do with the topic of the episode, including comedy clips, along with a music video for a parody of a popular song, with new lyrics to fit the subject.
