YOU - SEASON ONE
“You,” checks off many of the stalker-drama tropes. “You” won’t win any Emmys, but it will be interesting to see how the story evolves over the course of this season. It’s already been renewed for a second season ahead of Sunday’s series premiere, so someone has obvious faith in the project.
THE BI LIFE - SEASON ONE
The Bi Life isn’t perfect. Hopefully as it continues, we’ll learn more about the group, and they’ll become closer with one another – right now they have the kind of quickly formed closeness of people on an 18-30 tour which, to be fair, they sort of are. Besides, we need some love triangles for this to be thrilling as well as gamechanging. The idea is for the housemates to date outsiders but, of course, if two members of the group took a shine to each other and paired off? In a show that’s all about challenging stale norms, it seems the possibilities are endless.
ENTERPRICE - SEASON ONE
Honestly, not much to say other than: it was OK - strange ending.
NEW EDITION STORY - SEASON ONE
The New Edition Story, which credits all six members of the group as executive producers, tells the story with verve and charm, meticulously re-creating videos and photo shoots and, more notably, creating rootable characters out of already-familiar stars.
HATE THY NEIGHBOUR - SEASON TWO
I am massively biased as I am a fan of Jamali. His impressive wit and bold onstage presence speak volumes as to why he is critically acclaimed and continuing to climb from strength to strength within his career. I would definitely recommend 'Hate Thy Neighbour'.
In short, It's a heist-centric multipart drama that upends most clichés of heist movies and celebrates others.
A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS - SEASON ONE
It is a world without magic, where all adults are either patronising bureaucrats or deranged arsonists. The few kind-hearted exceptions invariably end up dead. In other words, it's an utter delight.
INSECURE - SEASON ONE
It's an honest, unflinching look at dating, relationships and life, told from a refreshing and hilarious perspective. Rae has produced a series that feels revolutionary just by poking fun at the life of an average, twentysomething black woman.
OUTCASTS - SEASON ONE
The show has some ponderous moments and its characters are sometimes guilty of not asking and answering direct questions that would give them valuable information. But eight episodes isn't too much of a commitment, and Outcasts at least has thematic and character-driven ambitions, as well as a gorgeously weird setting.
HEROES - SEASON ONE
The show's super strengths are its well-developed filmmaking, smooth pacing and a perfect cast. It views like the first hour of a fun, thoughtful movie.
