Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey's depth and exploration of class schisms in England allows for the growth of an excellent and interesting period drama. It explores social problems of the era as well as a clash between conservative and liberal thought. It also takes a look at the changing political views of the time. Overall, Downton Abbey is here to stay. Its acting, writing, and gorgeous scenery will be more than enough for viewers.

While I wasn't too sure that this Whedon work would take flight like some of his other series. But as soon as the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier affect this show's story line, it gets very good very fast. Season 2 is already much stronger than season 1 and hopefully it will get stronger as the show develops. It's delightful for comic book fans to see obscure villains pop up, find easter eggs, and notice Avengers cameos. With the ever growing Marvel universe in Hollywood, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has an unlimited amount of possibilities to explore.

Sherlock

Crazy intelligent and riveting, Sherlock is a well-acted, well-written, carefully planned out series that with Steven Moffat's writing is a stand alone show that all people will love and stay interested in. However, Sherlock falls underneath the weight of fan expectations.

The Walking Dead

Like Once Upon A Time for men and horror movie fans. It's ever expanding world and divergence from the comic books keeps everything really good. It's not the best show ever, but there are some cringeworthy episodes (such as The Grove) which show the potential this show has. However, a lot of episodes are hit or miss.

Veep

Strongly honest about its political criticism and mockery of political corrected-ness, Veep is a great show for House of Cards fans looking for some laughs.

Supernatural

A moving, scary, and comedic series that is showcased by its talented cast. While the show does have some very bad seasons (Season 7 we're looking at you.........) it does have some very, very great ones.

Doctor Who

Here's why Doctor's Who's fan base (the Whovians) is so huge: The new and upgraded version of Doctor Who features an array of talented actors and actresses who partake in amazingly odd, mind-boggling story lines that cross both space and time. Not only do you explore Earth's past and future, but other worlds across the galaxy, facing an array of interesting villains and civilizations.

Archer

A hilariously written show about dysfunctional spies and their massive screw ups while saving the world, Archer effectively entertains viewers with its outrageous characters and bold story lines. Arrested Development fans will be glad to see the same vibe and similar jokes.

The X-Files

A show revival with no sense of direction, The X-Files came back with a cluster of mysteries that didn't tie in together as well as they should have.

Vinyl

Though this edgy version of Mad Men appeals to viewers because of its focus on the music industry, Vinyl has trouble juggling tone as it drifts back and forth between comedy and dramatic tragedy.
