Honest, touching, and downright funny. This zany musical does more than sing songs and cause laughs, it crafts well-rounded characters whose flaws affect them dearly throughout the series. Plus, it's all very cute.
Ambitious, perhaps too ambitious, The Expanse is a refreshing and serious science-fiction drama that may prove to be too complicated for viewers due to how expansive (ha) the universe is. With three entirely different cultures taking turns on the show, some dialogue may be lost because of accents. But overall, it's a great next step for Syfy to take and a giant leap into a revival of Battlestar Galactica-level science-fiction.
A show that's anything but "normal", Gortimer and his friends deal with surprisingly deep and realistic issues in a series that acknowledges the reality of situations such as death and divorce instead of glazing over topics in rose-tinted shades. It's a great coming-of-age series that will teach kids, and maybe even adults, important life lessons.
While it's refreshing to see a very grounded ghost story with a The Conjuring vibe, Enfield's typical and cliche case about a poltergeist who throws things and speaks to people isn't at all compelling enough to be memorable. So.. Meh?
So....... I stayed up till 5:30 watching all of the episodes. I'm now up to date. Tried not to wake up my roommates with my incessant laughing. I failed. Horribly.
A show that deserved getting axed, The Lizzie Borden Chronicles needlessly detaches viewers from acts of horror with comedic relief and odd choices in music. It's not as suspenseful or realistic as either Hannibal, The Fall, or Bates Motel.
Even though it's a network drama, The Blacklist certainly doesn't feel like it. Dark, dramatic, and tense, The Blacklist is not your regular drama. In fact, it stands boldly and proudly over its creation and enjoys seeing you surprised (and sometimes grossed out) at every turn. However, some episodes are a wee bit too far fetched to be believable.
A powerhouse of a new show. Last Week Tonight With John Oliver not only takes action against powerful groups and brings up little known, but significant issues about them, but it ushers viewers to take action as well. John Oliver's influence is certainly growing. Can't wait to see just how influential John Oliver becomes.
A pinnacle of science-fiction, X-Files made the extraordinary down to earth (literally at times) . However, the longevity of the series led to some oddball and quite boring seasons later on (basically, anything beyond season 5 honestly).
State of Affair's rather over-the-top political problem of the week seems to be more sensational than necessary and has a cliché conspiracy. Katherine Hiegl seems to be the one and only star of the show. You're better off watching Madam Secretary.
