The inherent corniness of The Librarians may be too goofy for most, but the charm of The Librarians is hard to match. However, the lead actor from the movies only appears for a couple of the episodes, forcing us to try and love the 2-D and hastily created characters we met in the pilot. This isn't Marvel's Agents of Shield, no matter how hard it tries to be.
Pretty people drama meets a post-apocalyptic Earth in this science-fiction series and while you may be enchanted by the possibility of characters ending up together, you'll miss how bland the script and story can be at times. The dangers, while ever present, aren't too impacting and the drama within the "100" group is a little nonsensical at times.
About a town filled with geniuses and the sheriff trying to keep them in track, Eureka is a funnily clever show with an interesting premise and really cool case of the week episodes. A lighthearted, syfy television series, it's a fun show to keep track of and to binge.
So sorry for my last review of this show. I gave it a second chance. :D
A lighter, more comic book derived spin off of the CW's hit Arrow, The Flash's quick pace, witty humor, and villain of the week formula is definitely interesting to watch. This spin off is just as good as its predecessor.
A relatively good show that follows competitive cosplayers. It's heaven for geeks and people who understand all of the character references. Fascinating techniques are used for the creation of these costumes and seeing a community of people who do this for a living is not only interesting, but nice to explore. Although, you may find the cast mean at times.
A show that came way before its time. This horror series was the prototype show which allowed for shows like Hannibal and American Horror Story to exist. Bloody, dramatic, and exciting to watch. It's a thrill that horror fans should at least try out. Actors Matt Barr (Hell Cats, Hatfields & McCoys) and Katie Cassidy (Arrow, Supernatural) are only a few of the talented people that make this show worth watching.
Whedon's sci-fi, western series that ended way before its prime. Firefly gained a large, dedicated fan base (called the Browncoats) for a reason and reason is evident upon viewing. Smartly scripted and having an intriguing storyline, Firefly's influence was so big that they made a movie for fans in order to tie up loose ends and give much needed closure.
Whedon fans might feel a little shocked at how starkly different this sci-fi show is compared to other Whedon works like Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but Dollhouse, cancelled a little too early, is an excellent show that hits very dark topics and focuses deeply on the themes of human existence, the existence of artificial intelligences, and sex trafficking.
While Syfy had a lot going for this show, its muddled plot, mediocre characters, and alright writing hold it back. This show had a lot of potential, however it's good-vs-evil theme and lack of understandable circumstances leaves viewers wanting more. It's special effects and make-up department are, however, delightful.
